The good syrup has some codeine in it and will get you a better buzz if you can keep enough of it down. But you won't get it for $3.99.
I suggest Richard's Wild Irish Rose wine. Give a friend the first swig, you can tell if you have a good bottle by the look on his/her face.
Economics change, but normally you can get 3 fifths for one plasma donation.

Mad Dog is the only alcoholic drink I've ever had that gives me a headache while drinking it.
The wine I really like that I can drink for the taste is Black Tower Rivaner. Its inexpensive and tasty as hell. The germans know their shit.

I knew a "wino" who only drank Lysol. We called him the Lysol man. I have one of his shirts. At any rate, he took pride that he never paid for it, always snuck into some cleaning closet and stole it. I tried it once, he said he usually cut it 1/2 and 1/2, but gave me 1/3 Lysol, 2/3 water. He said he was sorry all he could swipe that day was scented, it left an aftertaste. It was a different kind of high from anything else.
He claimed his shit didn't stink. I took him and another fellow to the VA hospital in Chillicothe one day, they stayed a month, but neither stayed sober. I bumped into someone a few years ago who told me he saw the Lysol man's grave out at the VA cemetery here in Dayton.
The winos used to swipe a bag of ice from the carryout, and try to sell it. Price would go down as the ice melted on them.

When I was in college we used to get something that was cheaper than MD 20/20, etc. It was called "Pluck" and had a red fox on the label.
The name is actually derived from people drinking wine for "courage" [a meaning of "pluck"] before getting into gang fights.
It was disgusting. Sadly I also had quite a bit of beer before my "Pluck" and went from getting close to making out with a cute chunker of German Catholic descent to vomiting in my bunk.
