Hello, I am a political activist and I want to warn you about the destructive effect your "industry" is having on people.
The fact that you call it an "industry" is implying that you see it as perfectly acceptable to exploit young women in order to make money. Often the girls that enter the porn industry are vulnerable, been abused as kids, or have been forced into it due to lack of money.
There is also the issue of objectifying women. The girls that engage in your exploitive activities are human beings just like you, and have feelings that are being degraded by the unnatural acts you get them to partake in. In the end, they turn to drugs due to severe emotional problems, and as they get older they become less attractive, so they are booted out the industry (no longer any economical use). What are their options then? Probably homelessness.
There you go, this industry messes up lives, and as well you know it, but will not admit it!

I am fascinated by the "industry" for these very same reasons and like a driver on the 405, looking away from the wreck is just not possible.
Also, the acts we "get them to do" is a misstatement; these girls do what they want, acts that are explained well beforehand for a prearranged amount of money, with known people. We don't "get them to do" anything more than any employer "gets" his/her employees to do things that economically benefit the employer.
Also, saying that these girls "end up" turning to drugs is just bullshit; they often come in as dope fiends and just leave with bigger habits. In fact, many girls come to the industry to support their habits. But what is different than the same girl working for coke money at Gelson's or a bank? Maybe the only difference is your fucked up judgmental attitude about sex.
You claim to work for people's rights, free speach and individual empowerment, but your innability to see sex as an act of free speech just reveals what a narrow minded thinker you really are. Remember, just because you don't like porn doesn't mean that it is not someone else's right to produce, participate or view porn.
I don't like most television, I think it does all the same things you just said porn does, but I don't go around saying it should not be made or that those who make it are some how evil.
Do some real thinking and maybe you could put your energies towards a cause that might better serve the world.

b) The fact that they leave with BIGGER problems than when they arrived indicates that working in this field IS affecting their emotional state in a negative way.
That asside, I don't see any Trade Unions! Where are the Trade Unions? The very least employees expect is a trade union to which they can go to if they have disputes with their employers.
What about retirement pensions and health insurance?
No, porn is an unregulated, abusive industry that the government is too afraid to investigate. There are no safeguards for the people involved and the corporations controlling it are making massive profits.

You should take the advice of Gen and do some thinking and research into your bullshit, liberal, reactionary views. And bringing in new arguments (unions) instead of responding to the original thread just shows how weak your argument is.
As for drug problems getting worse, well that's the path of drug abuse; it either stops or gets worse. So, that's a bullshit response.
If these girls are so "vulnerable", do you think it would be better for them to engage in some other form of legal exploitation? Why is stripping, waiting tables, cleaning hotel rooms or any other "unskilled" job inherently better? If your argument is that these jobs don't on their own cause more emotional harm, you're right. But, as I said before, a huge part of my fascination with this industry is the "train wreck" or "rubber-necker" factor. When it comes down to it, I really like to watch young, sweet faced girls take loads in their mouths, huge dicks up their tiny ass pipes and basically be degraded (but degraded willingly!) for my stroking pleasure. And my enjoyment of this spans even to this forum and a fairly in-depth knowledge of the porn industry.

From what I've seen of pornographic images, it is not just a simple case of nudity, which is not particularly offensive, since nudity is the body's natural state. It is a whole different sphere of graphical images involving some sort of degrading treatment being done to women. I am fully aware of the fact that these women entered the business voluntarily, but that does not excuse the fact that work can cause severe emotional damage. It is a bit like a worker who is employed in a chemicals factory, and by the age of 40, they are so messed up by these toxic chemicals that they cannot work. The welfare system in your country is so crap that they would probably end up on the street. The same goes for the women and girls in your industry.
Lets talk about the welfare system a little more shall we? A decent Welfare State in your country could put you out of business, since destitute women would no longer have to sell their bodies to survive. Ah, the joys of a Socialist society....

Here's a fun thought: When "evil" corporations want a massive pool of exploitable labor, where do they go?
