Though I am a liberal, I concur with this. Robert Altman, director of the film, couldn't stand the show for this reason, and nobody was more outspokenly liberal than he was. Norman Lear's shows also tended to devolve to this sermonizing tone also, though I did love 'All in the Family' and 'Sandford & Son'. 'MASH' the show was only funny when it stuck to the anarchic spirit of the movie, which was seldom and nearly always involved the great Larry Linville. drunky


I haven't watched MASH in a while, but when I see All In The Family and Sanford & Son, they hold up.
