It's not self-reassurance. It's fighting back against all of the ridiculous attempts by the media and Democrats to de-legitimaze Trump's election which he won fair and square. It's very refreshing to have someone like Trump in the Republican party because he's actually willing to fight back against the Democrats and the media. He sticks up for himself rather than backing down like Republicans usually do. In his own words today: "We had a massive landslide victory, as you know, in the electoral college. I guess the final numbers are now at 306. She's down to a very low number."
