Like minded execs hire like minded talent and produce content to reflect their values and tastes. It's not a political machine pulling the strings of "Hollywood", it's just the taste of these creatives and moneymen. They lean left and their product reflects it. No beltway insiders instruct them on how to make their shitty remakes of stale properties.
"Hollywood" gets on it knees and blows "Washington" as often and as well as it can just to maintain its existence.
