A great television show, period. Regardless of your political bent or sophistication or lack thereof it ultimately amounted to character comedy and you tuned in each week to see wgat they'd say and how they'd interact, and McLaughlin hilariously put almost sadistic constraints on their answers that often cause them to stutter stammer race to get it out. It was great theater. Very very funny. Metaphysically certitude entertainment. If I remember correctly Dana Carvey did a pretty goddamn funny parody on SNL during the Phil Hartman era. drunky
