I should have a new iPad Air 2 right now since I ordered one the day they became available for pre-ordering. Unfortunately, FedEx appears to have lost my package. I was emailed a tracking number from Apple saying it shipped on the 23rd and was due to arrive yesterday, but the delivery process has been stuck at the first stage, "Shipping label has been created," for 5 days now.

I don't know if anyone here has ever tried to call FedEx about a package, but it was a 2 hour process the last time I tried. I used to have a direct number to the local FedEx warehouse counter and someone would always answer, but they (of course) changed that number. So, I called the Apple Store's 800 number and they're on the case, but said it could take 3 days for FedEx to get back to them. So my iPad is stuck in limbo.
