I agree with Gia about New York being better for the fact you don't need or want a car to live there. Also, you can go out at 11pm and find a restaurant not named Denny's to sit down and get a meal. I never lived in LA, but I spent a dozen years in SF, and even there the city shut down at 10pm and you needed a car to get around.

A friend who works at Bloomberg was trying to get me to NYC earlier this year. I'd be down for doing it for months at a time, but i'm not ready to downsize my reality yet. Getting there.
