Let me explain how this all played out..John had received a text that Christie would like to see him a day or two before the incident..So he was under the assumption she wanted reconcile there relationship..So he decided to pay her a surprise visit and ask her to marry him..

But unfortunately things didn't work out for John and when attempting to ask Christie to marry him..She pulled out a knife and attacked and attempted to kill the poor man..So in complete self defence he had to defend himself..And unfortunately Christie did sustain a few minor injuries.
