The "world" isn't appalled, or even slightly discomforted. The rest of the world are fucking barbarians. You can't reason with them, you can't logic them. The only thing the First World can do is put the 2nd and under Worlds under it's boot. These animals can't control themselves and the idea of giving them free reign to captain their own destiny is madness.
