His dealership didn’t sell any trade-ins and bought its inventory outright. He kept any unsold inventory and stored it, along with any cars he thought would have long-term value.
That is old time biddness. No credit, just "Here is your money, now I'll go make mine." Dude operated like that from the 40's to the 90's.
