Basically invented heavy metal, supergroups and discovered the African sound in Nigeria in the 1970s when that was an incredibly dangerous place to be, way before Paul Simon, David Bryne, etc. Pissed away his money every time he got it (he had an addiction to raising Polo ponies) and was an on and off smack head for decades.

I did not realize he had a very intense love/hate relationship with Jack Bruce. Eric Clapton was caught in the middle and got sick of it. Both Clapton and Bruce are in the film. None of his groups lasted more than one or two years. I believe Blind Faith (also with Clapton after Cream) had only one studio album.

It is full of pretty big name people. He influenced Neil Pert, Lars Ulrich, the dude from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
