Say for the sake of argument it is: Why not put the router where you've marked "good signal here?" That, alone, should get you a good signal in your shop and where you've already identified your room as being.

If I put the router in the shop, then I won't be able to use the laptop in the dining room or iPad in the living room. I moved the router from dining room to bedroom in order to get signal in the shop.

Has more to do with getting emails on my phone, chilling out in the yard while the boy runs around, and the Optimum App (streaming my cable to the phone or laptop).

No hookers. After my pop bred dogs for 20 years, any spot further back than the septic tank may have a pooch buried.
@have2: No underground utilities, except a garden hose in a PVC pipe to have water in the shop. I wish my old man had the electric for the shop put underground. Instead we have an extra set of poles on the property.
I asked somewhere else also. I think I'm going to try an N router and a repeater. New Egg has a warehouse 40 minutes away. If I get the stuff and it don't do the trick, I can drop em back off on my next trip to Brooklyn.
