I thought the Windjammer was on Sullivan's Island? If it's the early 80's place I'm thinking about, it was right on and open to the beach, sand on the floor, cold beer and great live music. But I'd have sworn it was on Sullivan's.

Edit: I think I'm remembering a place called "Miskin's" on Sullivans. I believe Hugo wiped it off the face of the earth.
