As for the election, no one has anything to be proud of. An uninformed apathetic electorate. A cheerleading and covering up media. A celebrity obsessed culture that thinks the government is a candy dispensing reality show. White guilt and the cynical race hustlers know how to produce and harness it. Threats of mob violence, which equals "democracy" when we're talking Arabs. How could this have ended any other way? No. There's nothing to be proud of in this episode. History will not judge us well.
