I think the regulars should pick a lurker out of the "who's online" at the lower right of the page and adopt them. Send them a pm or three until you get a response and try getting them to post. You can be as sincere or as flippant as you wish. There's not much difference in an engaged lurker and a pissed lurker when they aren't posting.
