Not quite correct. Officially, Juan Carlos is head-of-state of Spain. Practically, he's an unperson, that nobody cares about. Token figure par excellence, put in place after Franco's demise to give a severely divided Spain something to rally around.

The British Queen is head-of-state, head of the Anglican Church, headhoncho of the British Commonwealth, etc., etc. Officially, she has a lot more power than the average monarch. Again, practically, it amounts to little.

The Prince of Orange was the founder of the Dutch monarchy. He got shot. The crown-prince of The Netherlands is still called Prince of Orange.
