When the Greeks ruled the Mediterranean, Sicily was considered "Greater Greece". It's where Odysseus battled the Cyclops. And, where Plato was imprisoned for a time.

Some of the best preserved Greek ruins are in Sicily. And, you have Mount Etna which you can see anywhere on the eastern side. It just towers over everything.


That sounds great. Not only that but those in the South are more welcoming than those in the North. So I've noticed. Wouldn't mind seeing Capri though.
