A few posts here have mentioned that the HIPAA law prevents AIM from releasing this guy's name. However, considering this case involves a porn actor, would it be a violation to release his porn name?

For example, let's say somebody's real name is Joe Anderson and their porn name is Ray Princeton. Would it violate HIPAA if AIM said, "Ray Princeton has AIDS"?

I have some experience with HIPAA and I know that it protects personal information such as your real name but I don't know if it applies to aliases, stage names, pseudonyms, et cetera.

AIM Tests are done in your legal name. They ask for your "Screen name" as well. But you must prove your legal ID when the test is taken. Yes, AKAs are protected by HIPAA. So yes, HIPAA applies in all cases.
