That's not the point. From a foreign political standpoint (which, once again, is supposed to be McOldman's bailiwick) it makes all the difference in the world. The division between these two sects is huge and if he doesn't know the difference how is he suppose to interact/negotiate with them?
With a class of people who take insult at the drop of a hat, this kind of ignorance could be devastating.
