Back then, there was no such thing as reduced-size coin-op tables and "9 Ball."

One might play "8-Ball" to warm up, or, as a best of three match, to determine choice of break for a 150-ball round of Straight Pool.

The sound of balls falling and clanking around in a coin-op table to be locked up until the next batch of quarters is depressing...
