Didn't you think it lost steam in the last couple of episodes? I thought the first 3 or 4 were excellent. Then it started to drag on and be less about the birth of a nation which is what I found most interesting.



thought it was good the whole way through, but.. to each his own really... i find the more personal story aspects intriguing...mind you my TV rarely leaves history/discovery channels with the exception of for movies or a few select shows, and news.





Exactly. Here's a man, who for the good of the country he had a hand in creating, leaves behind his young family only to return to find them grown responsible adults in their own right.

That kind of sacrifice, among all the rest, would be unheard of today.
