I've never given him the credit he deserves. Likely since his roles have been few and far between with his "retirement" in the late 90s. Plus, much to his credit, he so becomes his character, you lose the notion of the actor.

I loved him in "Gangs of New York" and "The Unbearable Lightness of Being".


I never watched "My Left Foot". I don't care for handicap hero worship. I'm a euthanasist at heart, and I got in trouble in high school for advocating it in my essay on an excerpt from the book.
