After being taken into custody shortly before 2 p.m. today, sexual assault suspect Christopher Jack Reid appeared in court around 4 p.m.

Pullman Police met with Reid and his attorney, Chris Bugbee of Spokane, at a local motel parking lot, according to a Pullman Police news release. Reid is being processed in Pullman before he is transported to the Whitman County jail in Colfax, Pullman Police Sgt. Dan Dornes said.

Dornes said Wednesday morning that police had been in contact with Reid's attorney and had been planning for the suspect to return.

Reid, who is also known as adult film actor "Jack Venice," is wanted for an alleged attempted rape at the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority early Thursday.

Police issued a $200,000 search warrant for Reid, who was wanted on charges of second-degree rape, first-degree burglary, two counts of residential burglary and one of attempted residential burglary.

The second suspect, 23-year-old WSU student Kyle M. Schott, appeared in court Monday and posted $100,000 bail. His arraignment is set for Friday.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in Whitman County Superior Court, Schott told arresting officers that he assisted Reid in entering the Pi Beta Phi, Delta Gamma and Kappa Alpha Theta sororities. Also, he reportedly admitted to being with “Jack” inside the Kappa Alpha Theta house, watching “Jack” spoon a woman in an individual room, placing his hand on the woman’s buttocks, sexually touching her and giving “Jack” a condom when he asked for one.

The woman told police she woke up to a sound, possibly a condom package opening, according to the affidavit. When she woke up, the two men ran out of the room and down the fire escape.
