With Tom Zupko's latest feature "Flesh Circus" soon to crash upon the laps of porn fans everywhere,it's apparent that two of his previous films need to be reviewed here.
"Pussy Crimes" Arrow Productions (1999): a two-part anthology film of sorts,Zupko has a heavily insane story that runs all over the place, both stories being loaded with plenty of flashy visuals that out-does anything Rob Zombie has ever put onto film, but anyway, the first tale has Brian Surewood(Zupko's partner-in-crime)as a Hell-based courtroom judge who happily sexes it up with Rikki Anderson, and then Bailey Montaine, and the second half has a profanity-sprouting cop introducing four on-the-loose sex fiends, who often masturbate and anally assault their female compadres, with the fourth one being the best, since it involves Caroline Pierce(Surewood' goregous ex),a crooked senator, and food and chocolate being messily splashed all over them.
"The Abyss" Extreme Associates (2000) Zupko, combined with former rival Rob Black's producing skills, ultinizes a mixture of Mitchell Brothers-esque period piece sinema combined with Zupko's trademark roughie sex,as four sexually adevnturous Russian soldiers(Mickey G. and Brain Surewood, among them)are framed, and arrested, for the murders of their latest female conquests by a corrupt politician(Anthony Crane)who wants them out of the way in his quest for all-out-power,with a seuxal angel(Kristi Myst)giving them one final act of pure lust before their eventual executions. A bit on the rough side(witness Krista leigh's brutal dick-slapping scene),but both the raunchily heated sex and the luscious actresses on display here(Myst,Leigh,Gauge, and Wanda Curtis)help edge out this film into being one of Zupko's best films to date.
