It shows that Ducati (or whomever) had arrangements to have them 'host' at his booth, but they flaked on him. The investment on flyers - something I'm guessing you've never actually done outside of a comic book collection - was a complete waste because the whore didn't show up. Whether he paid them in advance or not is immaterial b/c they were BOOKED (a key word in porn) for an appearance.
