When this guy was a stud way back when he was such a fuckface and now as a director he gets awards for utter crapola. Does anybody dispute this?

yeah, as a matter a fact I do, most of his movies entertain me, they got
enough "oomph" to get me off while I got a bit of a story to mell over.
the master of this story telling in my mind was Cecil Howard...Paul Thomas
comes closer to anyone, on that yardstick. the man's doing a good job.
