From my previous post, I'm doing some rust repair on my old truck. It's going to require some paint. Auto Paint is expensive. I used DuPont primers, but for the color and clear, I use products from BASF.
I went to the paint supplier yesterday and picked up:
1 gallon of R-M Diamont medium reducer.
R-M is a mid level paint line from BASF.
I also ordered 2 quarts of R-M basecoat in GM Bright Teal Metallic. And I paid $160. I've got Glasurit clear left over from when I painted my Porsche a few years ago but I need some new hardener.
Glasurit is the premium paint line from BASF.
So the guy goes back to mix the paint and then returns a few minutes later and said that he made a mistake with the R-M so he was going to mix it in Glasurit. So at the end of the day, I got two quarts of Glasurit for the price of R-M. Glasurit is typically twice as much as R-M.
I don't know if this qualifies as worthy of Panzers approval since I didn't lie, deceive, or otherwise coerce the poor bastards into giving me something I didn't pay for.

You should have asked for both laces, since it is hard to decide over the phone. Some photographer called Duracell for a sample of their batteries for one of his jungle photo trips and they have sent to him a whole truck of free batteries.

Those are the crappy ones; I got them on eBay several purchases ago. Some of them have videos from the early 90s with shitty VHS quality. Sometimes they just put like 3 random videos together on 1 disc. These 50 for $100 are 95% good stuff (no comps) of black fat asses, but no anal. Original and "off da hook" edition:

I bought a used IBM Thinkpad off ebay for $150.00 including a docking station to run some very old, very expensive software I don't want or need to upgrade. Shit uses a Sentinel Security Key that requires an LPT port. Yeah, try finding a laptop with one of those. Anyway, this thing rocks and rolls on XP Professional and one day starts typing random gibberish when I use the laptop keyboard. It takes a while but I finally deduce that some of the the letter keys have figures and numerals on them, and somehow I hit a key combination that turned on the laptop keyboard number lock. I was about ready to pitch the thing but finally figured it out. I hate working on a laptop but this one has changed my life with freedom from the office.

I can't use this one effectively without lugging around a cordless mouse and keyboard, as well as the software protection device, but I'm willing to do so. I got my cellphone tethered to it so I can do any fucking thing I used to do in the office. It's driving my "boss" crazy. He is chapped because I am rarely there any more yet he can't give one good reason why I should be. If it doesn't come to a head where he tries to do something like, say, fire me because he can't monitor me then it's going to be great. If he does, I will make him look foolish in doing so.

I am so used to the mouse pad on these laptops, a regular mouse drives me nuts. That ThinkPad have the lil red button in the middle of the keyboard for a mouse? If so I can understand the need for a wireless.

Oh, the best thing about this laptop is it's mine. I just bought it personally and installed the software. The license for which belongs to me, personally. All the work I do, which pays my salary and bonuses but also lines his coffers is encrypted by MY key. I bought the keyboard and mouse too, and it came with MS Office. He does not know this yet and when those facts dawn on him it will get very interesting. He should ask the Office Manager pretty soon to see how much "we" paid for the laptop and equipment. I'll know in short order when that happens. The Office Manager has my back, too.

I scored off a bootleg chink. Since Mega went down, I haven't been able to see the latest and greatest. I got Hunger Games, muppets, the grey, new sherlock holmes, and the new American Pie. 5 for $20. If they hold true to form, 2 will be good quality, 2 bad but watchable, and one a frisbee.

Well here are the results of the quality test.
Muppets - DVD rip w/ all the features. Perfect Quality.
The Grey - DVD quality rip, w/ no features
Sherlock Holmes - OK quality. The very beginning had slope sub titles, but the weren't around when I FFWD half way through the movie.
Hunger Games - Passable for $4. If I enjoy it, I'll watch it again on HBO when it gets there.
American Reunion - Bad quality. I can probably make it through, but it is nothing more than a camcorder in a theater. Sound sucks to. If it is any good, I'll buy the DVD to see it clearly. I'm hoping for tits in this one.

I think it was $4.29 when I gassed the Jeep up this morning. I'm gonna repeat my pet peeve about gas prices again now: Why is it that no matter what the price of gas is, the difference between grades is always 10 cents? It was once $.99 for Regular, $1.09 for Plus and $1.19 for Premium. Now it's $4.29, $4.39, & $4.49.

Nah, won't pass inspection due to a catalytic converter I'm not spending $800-1000 on. Car has 200K miles on it. Driver side caliper seized up like 6months ago, I replaced it and the pads. 3 months later, same think on the passenger side. I was broke so I didn't replace or cut the rotors. Now, the driver side was starting to grind, and I had a couple extra shekels, so I figured I'd get it over with. My friend did the rear brakes for me. I never fucked with drum brakes, and he has all the various pliers/tools to take the springs off. Knock on wood, but the only thing left to do is the blower motor. I only got air flow this winter doing 80 on the highway. I do a lot of stop and go traffic, so I need that A/C to rock and roll.

It is something everyone needs so they tax the shit out of it. It's not just taxes over here. Even though they deny it every time, oil companies are taking their share as well.
