Several posters on numerous internet adult industry newsgroups made mention that they would love to make contributions to help Lea DeMae raise money for her medical condition. I am taking action and making this happen. I spoke with the Oldrich Widman at Dream Entertainment (Lea's agency in Czech) who is coordinating fundraising efforts in Europe. PayPal cannot be accepted in many Eastern European countries, so my PayPal account is available for ANYONE who wishes to contribute. I will wire funds directly to Lea every week. There is no middle man or other scam trying to get a piece of the donations. I have had the scourge of cancer touch me personally. My mom died of lung cancer when she was only 34 years old. I am willing to do whatever it takes to help others with this terrible affliction. I'd consider donating if it wasn't paypal, since I don't have an account and don't particuarly trust the company-is there any way people could circumvent having to create an account and give them access to their amex accounts and the like? I may break down, but there may be others in the same boat who would be fine with checks or wiring you something if it's easier on your end.
the hospital i'm sure she's talking about is MGH, which isn't cheap because it's public, but it's all harvard med and probably the first choice for rich people who are really sick. the only reason it's ranked with mayo and baltimore is because they have to treat people who can't pay and as a result the state won't pay for long emergency room stays or above basic treatment.
i can't find what kind of cancer she has, but if it's one of the two they make it sound like it's really sad.

I lost my mother to cancer at 48. I know I'm not going to be popular for saying this, but I think it has to be said.
Everyone has limited personal resources. We can only spare a certain amount of money to donate to good causes. If we give it to one cause, then another misses out. So why should we give money to a specific individual, rather than donate to one of the many worthy cancer research charities, which spend their resources with the common good of all cancer sufferers in mind?
I mean, somewhere in the Czech Republic there is probably a small child dying of the same brain cancer Lea has. Why should we give our money to Lea instead? Just because we like to see her take it up the ass on camera?

The $150,000 Lea needs is more than "a little coffee money".

I do not have access to any of your personal info with MY paypal account.
If you want to wire money directly to Lea or even send her a check, please send me an email. I'll give you the info. Paypal is soooo easy... that's why we used them.
As for some of the other points in this thread... The intent here is to help someone who is in our industry. I've never met Lea. I likely never will. But her situation touched me personally in the past, and I saw a chance to do a good thing for someone. It has nothjing to do with her ability to work again in the biz. It has everything to do wither chance to wake up in 40 years and reflect upon how complete strangers helped save her life one day.

I accept that. I managed to pick up the word "again" from chickenmaster's post without realising that it subtly changed my meaning.
Now granted it has nothing to do with her ability to work in the biz again, it undeniably DOES have everything to do with the fact that she has worked in the biz in the past.

You emphasise the fact that she is a "complete stranger", but the fact is, had Lea chosen to be a typist instead of a porn star, you would not be holding this collection for her.
Personally I don't see myself in a position to judge who is and isn't worthy of help. That's why I'll give my money to cancer charities, and if I come to reflect on it in 40 years time, I'll remember it went to help lots of people I never knew, not just one girl I had a boner for.
Ivor give it up, Lance is just trying to do something nice for someone. I don't think he wanted it turned into a crusade for the equality of health care.

But it's not just Lance - he's asking others to dip into their pockets, so it's perfectly valid to question whether this is the best cause for charitable donations.
I've said pretty much all I have to say on the subject, and I feel my point has been made. I knew it wouldn't go down very well.
Well I hope everyone has the same world perspective as you if your ever sick. You will die happily knowing that the charity that was started for you to get the medical work you needed was justifiably deffered to a bigger charity; and that the money will be spread thinly across there buget to help pay administrative costs. 
I seriously doubt you would hold the same view if it was your sorry ass on the line.

Well if you go to school or work, either could hold the same kind of charity for you in your community. Same thing on a small scale. I've seen it happen in my community, so that's why it makes no sense trying to change peoples minds about where they want to place there money. I have on occasions contributed to a large charity and an individual one. Your perspective has valid points, but is not balanced in it's approach.

Ivor.... My sorry ass my not be raising money for your sorry ass (YOUR QUOTES!!! hehe), but if someone else took the effort to raise money for you, and I sawy that I could help a complete stranger, I might help. I've done it before. WHo HASN NOT given money to causes that have no real connection to a poerson? ALL of us have given at some point I am sure. I understand your point, but I am simply hoping for generosity of people to help a stranger... She just happens to work in the porn biz.
