New league this year, I'm running it. $100 buy in and $25 towards transactions. Pay out is by percent of $$ taken in, 60/30/10. 12 team PPR league. Big changes in the scoring. No screwy special scoring for TE, which over valued them in the last league and no bonus points for length of TD.

I took Schaub in the last round of the draft, then dumped him when he wasn't the starter.

I went heavy on reception guys. Was happy as hell to get 70reception RBs in Rnds 10 & 14.

Friggin Welker got concussed and suspended. I'm taking a flyer on Watkins and starting him at Flex this week. My thoughts on grabbing him and Britt were that they would be the top targets on teams playing from behind, so they would get catches and yards.

I considered picking up Josh Gordon today, when I heard the suspension may be reduced or vacated, but chickened out and someone else grabbed him. Dude who got him will have STELLAR receivers if he plays. Dude has AJ Green, Julio Jones, & Gronk. He's vulnerable at RB w/ Spiller, Bush and Vereen all injury prone. He also has Newton at QB. Are there any WRs in Carolina?

NFL.com has me going 6-8, but in season waiver moves are usually where I do very well.



And for actual NFL talk, I'll go Denver over Philly in the Super Bowl. Like 38-17, w/ Eagles getting blowed out and a garbage time score. With a full season of Von Miller and the addition of DeMarcus Ware, that defense is going to be tough, and makes Denver the class of the AFC. Eagles got Sproles to keep Shady fresh for the playoffs, Foles is in his 2nd year of running that offense and they spent most of their draft picks trying to improve their D, and the rest of the division is dog meat, so they have a shot at home field advantage in the playoffs.

Rog's FFL is jacked, basically start 2 QBs, RBs, WRs, Flex, and one TE, Def, K. With 10 players, the draft pool is depleted really fast. Not to mention 3 keepers from last season.

That and watching sports tends to put me to sleep.

Kicker can be a nice bump, Willie. Get a guy like Seattle's Hauschka or Baltimore's Tucker and you can get some nice points. I had a few times last year that Hauschka got me 20+pts.

Who were the 2 guys you kept, besides Brees?

It's an old debate: draft a K on a subpar team who will probably get a lot of field goal attempts, or the K on a high-powered offense who will be kicking lots of extra points. I tried to split the difference and got the guy from B-more, 'cause I figure Joe Flaccid will sputter the offense, but be good enough to at least get them in FG range.

Same reasoning I picked up Joprdan Cameron. He'll be Hoyer's most reliable target since the rest of the WR corps there is weak.

I paid much more attention to the WR spot. In Rog's league, all the best RBs have been locked up as keepers for years, and the WRs seem to produce more points more consistently.

@Willie: Tucker from Baltimore has a big leg. Regularly makes 50+yd kicks. I got him off waivers in his rookie year, and jumped on him this year when kickers started coming off the board.

When drafting kickers, if I miss out on the ones w/ prolific offenses or tough defenses, that often leads to good field position, I take a guy who kicks indoors.

@TUP: Sorry man. I turned to Fantasy Football after my second season of losing money betting single games (1winning season, then 2 losing, was probably down 600-800 over the 3 years). If I win any money at FF, then I take $200 of it to stake my single game playoffs betting.

I'm also in an online Weekly Pool run on CBSSports. I've done well with that the past 4 years. Those take zero thought though, aside from Monday Night Points tiebreaker. I do love that it is $100 cash up front.

Another reason I hope Chris Christie becomes POTUS is because I think he will let states do single game betting.

If Arizona wins this game, I take the first week in my pick em pool. I'm tied w/ one other guy at 11. He has SD, so I don't have to worry about pts. If the Browns didn't suck so bad in the first half, and beat the Steelers, it would have been wrapped up past night.

Pay out is usually a little over $200, then subtract 10% tip for the broad who runs the pool. Would pay for all my gamblin, until the playoffs.
