Today I was in Pasadena to see Luka. I grabbed a calzone from Manny's Pizzeria on Fairoaks avenue then a Chocolate Mood Jamba Juice on Colorado Blvd. Jamba Juice is fruit flavor slush frozen juice with fruit. You can request a boost (which is just powder flavoring) that supposedly adds nutrition. I say bollocks, but I needed it to kill my hangover.

Yesterday I grabbed a case of beer, fired up the coals and barbecued NY striploin, beef ribs, chicken legs and honey garlic sausages. Ate it with herbed baked potato, grilled onion and mixed salad.
Question: What do you guys prefer to bbq with -- coals or
propane?

Today I had a Muenster Sandwich. I made it with the panini machine. It included a spread which was a mixture of tomato, onion, some organic mesclun and a little spicy mustard on organic wheat bread. Another good spread is fresh thyme, diced red onion, dijon mustard and fat free sour cream. I washed this down with a glass of mineral water. There is a South African girl I meet in the neighborhood today, I think she just moved in. Or maybe she's visiting someone. She looks a lot like Heather Locklear.

I had a late lunch at Gino's (2 blocks from the luna lounge) where I was twanging around on a 100 year old Marxophone zither, pretty popular in the early 1900s but dead by the 70s.
I was so engrossed with this thing that I failed to realize I had played my way through lunch and that's when I decided to grab 2 slices of pizza with a blend of pepperoni, beef and pork toppings, green peppers, red onions, and mushrooms. I then made a mad dash home to get cleaned up.
I'll get going back to the lounge about 9pm. They're showing a couple of Serb films later.

I had an Indian dish with yogurt and vegetable croquettes that I can't remember the name of. I had a good buzz and the shit was so hot I thought I was going to pass out. Is it just me or does Indian food have a euphoric effect?

Lunch at hamburger mary's in west hollywood. The girls and I sat on the patio and they kept thinking the waiters were winking at them and I'm like honey they're looking at me. It was my cheat day too so I had a cheese burger/no mayo. It was running down my arm and the waiter asked if I wanted to do karaoke night. How come gays never do metallica? That's my jam. I'd OWN that stage if they had it. Ok after a few shots.

Some of those funky spices and herbs they put in their food can jack up your metabolism. I love Indian food, I'd make the drive to LA just for the real deal.

Indian is probably some of the healthiest food you can eat. If you have the proper spices and the time there is nothing like spending the whole day making your own curries.
I have been eating Little Cesar's pepperoni, bacon + mushroom pizzas for the last three days. Morning, noon and night. I just can't get enough. I do this a couple of times a year and my wife just sits back and watches me with disgust.

A sandwich from the local deli. They make the best sandwiches I've ever had. I had mine on a baguette with beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalapeño's, onions, a touch of mayo, mustard, a few peppers etc
On the side I got some Kettle Krinkle Cut chips (Island Jerk) and a coke to wash this down. This luncheon was one of the best all week.
Side note: I've been watching a lot of early Japanese films lately and last night I caught this film. Probably one of the finest films in the genre. Very brutal and Miki Sugimoto is gorgeous.

Ah well, I guess if and when I do go to Vegas I will hit you up. But that's beside the point, I'm sure your raving to know what I had for LUNCH today:
I made a pastrami and swiss sandwich, laid atop sourdough bread (I usually prefer rye but thought, what the hell) with a layer of low-fat mayonnaise and Whole Foods yellow mustard between them, and some fresh lettuce and tomato purchased from a local produce store the day before. I accompanied this sizeable sandwich with a Reed's ginger soda and a monsterous golden delicious apple. I find that if one is willing to spend the effort, a home-made meal is most excellent.
I like mysteries. I love lunch.

Today I made a guacamole burger at home. Basically mixed ground beef and onion to make four patties, then I made the guacamole using a brazilian recipe, added some lime to keep it from spoiling. Then I added a tomato slice to eat bun, topped with spicey cheese and a jalapeno and topped this with the guacamole. Fries on the side and an ice-cold coke to wash it all down. Earlier today I ran into this chick at the market. She introduced herself with a rather cute name and told me she's French and said "My performing name is Natasha Nice". I was about to start dropping names but I had a bunch of errands to run. Have you guys heard of her? She has some big knockers.

Heh, I know where Casa di is now. Ok, now that we're talking old school, remember The Venetian. Not the hotel- but the 24/7 best home made Italian food made for the perfect 4am binge EVER. It was off Sahara/Decateur and shut down 2 yrs ago. So depressing. I ate some baaad, bad things in there then hit 24 Hr Fitness. Fuck the Peppermill. They redecorated over its old school cache and it's all tourist s now saying 'how money, baby' shit is.

Yesterday I had a BBQ at Sparky's house. He said he wanted to do a BBQ, no idea why- perhaps he was feeling depressed, but he asked me if I could take care of the food and all that. So I did. I made a guacamole dip for the chips so everyone could snack on that while I threw some beef, chicken and sausages on the grill.
Today I made Shrimp Arrabbiata. Arrabbiata in Italian means angry, but the sauce is supposed to be real spicy so when you're eating it you make a face that looks angry. I usually use 1/2 a teaspoon of crushed red pepper and 6-7 ounces fresh linguine, 1 can of undrained diced tomatoes, 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined. I then toss the spicy roasted pepper puree on farfalle pasta and voila! Wash this down with a wine or water (as in my case) and serve.

Ashley Blue once recommeded Doughboys on 3rd, and she was right about their waffles, pancakes, and bread ' so good there must be heroin baked in.' But for today's lunch, I tried the new Doughboys location on Highland. I hated everything about this one and wanted to leave. My friend ordered a stuffed olives dish called 'Load In the Hole.' I lost my appetite and ordered coffee, which was quite delicious. I just wasn't feeling this location.

i went to chuck e. cheese's today for LUNCH. i ate shitty pizza and listened to children scream for three hours. then we came home and i listened to my little one scream for three more hours, because he wanted to go back to "chunky cheese".

I worked all day shooting erotica-la. My lunch was coffee at the conevtion center cafeteria. Fast food places/cafeterias are so foreign to me that I poured my coffee into the wrong cup, couldn't find the straws, and left with these weird wax residue things bubbling in the drink. I nearly threw it out since the experience of having to do it all again was so discouraging, but the computer guy at avn told me to quit being a pussy and the line was short anyway.

Today I linked up with Sparky and went to The Hump in Santa Monica for some good ol' sushi. Sparky's entire life has been taken over by The Foot. He had to change his email address 5 times and started a school for rich kids giving private lessons in Belgium New-Beat music from the mid 80s from his loft apartment starting 9:50am- 10:10pm (weekends excluded). I feel sorry for Sparky. I on the other hand I'm working on a new noise project. More on that later:
The Hump is one of the best places EVER. It's perched upstairs at the Typhoon; a multi-Southeast Asian cuisines-themed restaurant frequented by rich snobs. The ridiculous name comes from the route some flying tigers took during World War 2. If you've ever seen that BMW movie Wong-Kar Wai made with Clive Owen following some chick then you'll have an idea of what this place is like, and what most of the folks here look like.
To start off we had Akadashi Miso soup then dived straight into a sushi sashimi tray recommended by the chef (I normally never do this but when the chef is a trusted old bugger like this one I'll go with it).
The tray had Tai (red snapper rolled with japanese citrus pepper), hamachi (yellowtail handrolled with serrano pepper, garlic dai dai sauce), kampachi (young yellowtail handrolled with serrano pepper, garlic dai dai sauce), maguro (Blue Fin Tuna) and toro which is the finest part of blue fin tuna. We also got some Ika (squid), Ebi (cooked shrimp) and hirame (flounder).
We washed this wonderful luncheon down with two bottles of Yebisu Premium (produced by Sapporo).
