At the DopeFest last weekend we were offered some edibles by various unsanitary hippies.


Name: Macaroon. At least that's what they called them. Organic, raw, gluten free.

Appearance: Like a chocolate donut hole.

Strain: Weapons Grade Medicinal.

Taste: Not bad at all. Kind of weedy, but not much.

Effects: Weapons Grade, my balls. No heady effect at all. A little body high, but certainly nothing to write home about. They made my burps taste like weed and Jimmy Dean sausage. Maple, I think.



Name: Rice Crispy Treat

Appearance: Poop like

Strain: Unknown

Taste: Like a Rice Crispies Treat. Pretty tasty.

Effects: Nice body high, but a little paranoia in the head. Not very long lasting.

You gotta throw some M&Ms in the Krispie Treats.

I'm sure M&Ms aren't Free Trade or some such silliness. I wasn't impressed with these. They didn't look appealing, they tasted OK, but didn't make me very stupid at all. I still have a brownie and some hard candy to try. Plus I've had some really nice looking Fruity Pebbles treats that Bongo Boy made a year or so ago. He vacuum packed them and they've been in the freezer ever since.

is any of this stuff really supposed to taste good?.
it's really like any good booze or drink recipe isn't it...that is the more expensive it is or the fruitier its mixed the less bad it tastes?.

The magic cookie I had a few days back tasted awesome. It tasted pretty much just like a chocolate chip cookie, with a little extra flavor that actually added to the overall good taste. It was made by an expert and was super strong.

I only had part of one cookie and it kicked in pretty hard after about half an hour or so. I really enjoyed feeling the buzz move from one part of my body to another. I can't imagine what it would've been like if I ate an entire cookie.

I had some really nice Lemonade soda that one of the shop owners gave me. I don't remember the name but it was a nice body high with a heavy numbing quality. It looked like a Mike's Hard Lemonade in terms of packaging.

I think the intention is to make it taste good. I'm sure that some of the stuff done in professional kitchens is pretty tasty. Some dirty hippie using recipes he learned from High Times, not as much.

Yeah, they even made lousy grilled cheese sammiches at Dead shows.

I never had any interest in the Dead tailgaters experience. There had to be all sorts of health code violations going on.

When you are high and hungry, you make due. I mostly went to dead shows (only a couple) to drink in the parking lot and try to score acid, to consume at a later date.

Have Phish replaced them as the band to follow?

I think the Allman Bros have taken the mantle. I don't do concerts often, usually only to binge.

I'd see the Allman Bros. in a heartbeat. Gregg is kind of America's Keef Richards.

Cheech and Chong are coming to a casino in Spokane in a couple of weeks. Haven't decided if it would be worth the trip.

I saw Tommy Chong and his wife, shit, about 15 years ago? It was not long before he was arrested. He did a little stand up, but the bulk of it was skits with the wife. Dudes eyes were like cherry tomatoes. I don't know if it was from drugs or age though.

I got a buddy that goes to see the Allmans in NYC a couple times every year, when they do the few week stint there (Fillmore East?). I saw them in AC a while back. Ziggy Marley and the Wailers opened for them. Cool show, it was in an over sized conference room, like something a big wedding would be in. Standing room only.

I do prefer outdoors though, day or night, just not in cold rain.

Hard to imagine Ziggy Marley and the Wailers could play a conference center. Please tell me the ganja smoke got so thick the fire alarms went off.

Reminds of the time some Free Speech/Porn conference and the High Times convention were at the exact same time, across from each other in the Hilton.

No ganja. I forget if you could smoke in there at all or you had to go out to the casino floor. To get F'n drinks, you had to go outside the room, stand in line to buy tickets, then go back in stand in line for drinks, and it was 2 tickets/drink.

Crowd was small for the Wailers, very easy to get within 5 feet of the stage. It probably tripled when the Allman's started.
