Its not the same experience as take-out. The food is generally arraigned very artfully on the plate. My last visit the food was excellent, but the arrangements were not up to par. Likely because of the attention the bridal party was demanding.
For example, when you order a Filet of Beef with Sautéed Mushrooms and Herb Roasted Potato in a Cabernet Sauce, you are likely to receive a carefully cut and braised lean steak perched atop four roasted potato halves arraigned as if they were the legs of a beef table with the slab of meat balanced on top. This edible table will be set with a delicate assortment of garnishes to complete the picture of an elegant table on your plate. Under the table is a carpet of Champignons in their own sauce. The table on the plate may have a centerpiece of a florette of parsley coming from the back of a halved roasted cherry tomato to simulate a flower arrangement.
All of the dishes are hand made by a master chef and presented as transient works of art, gone by the end of the evening.
It is a dining experience with food as art rather than just filling one's gut.
So I will leave it to your imagination as to whether I really tipped or spewed my seed as gratuity.
I think that you tipped because you are a guilty-feeling American.

I've been sick and out of sorts for a week now. I can't eat anything deemed a "meal". Whatever I eat comes out my nose or my ass as liquid, with little difference between the two.

I call this vegetarian stew and have it for dinner, but it is really soup. Very simple like most stuff I make. Peel and wash some potatoes, dice into bite size pieces, cover with water, drain, cover with water again, add a bay leaf or two, and start boiling. Meanwhile, peel and dice onions, add to pot. Cut up carrots, add to pot. Cut up some celery, add to pot. Add salt, pepper and coriander. Check for taste, adjust seasonings. I guess you could add chicken or something if you wanted, but it comes out great just like this.

Want easy good nutritious soup? Get a crock pot! SUPER easy! Get a cpl cans of crushed tomatoes (or blanch, peel and smush them yourself...I get canned because the tomatoes in FL tend to suck), toss it in the crock pot with veggies of your choice(I go with a little diced potato, chopped zucchini, chopped squash, string beans, carrots, a little onion, some peas and celery at least) then add a can (or again, you can get real and soak overnight) lentils, or my preference, kidney beans for fiber and turn it on high for @ 6 hrs. The last hr add a handful of ditalini pasta and presto...yummy minestrone!

I made some beef soup yesterday . Browned some stew beef, chopped one onion, bell pepper, carrots, potatoes and celery and added a can of chopped tomatoes. A dash of worcestershire sauce , some Italian seasoning, rosemary, and a crushed small cayenne pepper. I also add a small dash of curry powder [ just enough to enhance the tomatoes ] Sea salt and pepper to taste. Simmered on the stove for 3 hours and it was deelish !

Keep in mind...vegetarian is not vegan. Cake, chocolate, cheese fries, etc....are still vegetarian. Veg doesnt automatically equal healthy

I went out with some friends last night and we decided to get up early this morning and go out hunting wild spring onions. Gather them, clean them, slice them thin, saute them in some oil, add eggs, and scramble as usual. It is considered a delicacy among some of the tribes. It was an excellent lunch served with fresh baked bread, sausages, and iced tea.

Family event today. The menu included:
Smoked Boston Butt
Standing rib roast also smoked
deviled eggs
fried okra
creamed corn (goes on top of the okra)
macaroni pie
green beans cooked with chunks of pork
buttermilk biscuits
spinach salad with blackberries, strawberries, and a bunch of other odd things- was damned good
real mashed potatoes
cucumber salad they call it- more like a caprezi salad
cantelope
boiled shrimp
Then there were the desserts, which I did not eat. Probably 6 or 8 choices. Tops on that list was homemade banana pudding with real Nilla Wafers.
Edit: First Easter I can remember with no Ham, but we still covered the pork in spades. Afterwards the womenfolk cleaned up and the menfolk went out back and shot clay pigeons. (Boy and girl children out back with us learning gun safety and blistering their shoulders with 12 gauges, some for the first time).
