Who or what is a Spider?!?

Probably one of those apps that downloads an entire site, link by link, pic by pic. ?

A big black spider lived in a hole.

It's 5:37 EDT and THERE'S A SPIDER ON-LINE!!

Apparently that spider crawled out from Google. It is the googlebot that provides text to their indexer. Or something like that.

There was three of them a second ago, but now there's only one.

Pretty close,it's basicly a bot that remains hidden until told my code on particuar sites what to do.They sleep and have lot's of babies.It then mines the data that the site directs it to grab.Its an old take off on the term spider food,which is basicly now hidden keywords.Spider food are words hidden in the same color as the page,the type cannot be precieved by the naked eye.Google,Yahoo etc,now have programs to ditect spider foodand can stop their point ratings scams.Thats why seo and sem are the hot topics in on line marketing now.

You definitely need one.

What I want to know, is there any way to fuck with these spiders? Just for shits and grins.
