First of all, thanks for making this thread. I'll do my best to answer any questions you guys may have.
Help me understand the question; are you asking about changing an unlimited studio package that is $9.95/mo or switching studios if you're on the 100min/mo plan?
If it's the former it's simple. Just cancel the package and choose another that fits your mood. Or skip the package altogether and go with some scenes, whole movies, or minutes. Whatever you like.
If it's the latter then I think there might be a bit of a misunderstanding. Minutes can be used for films from any of the over 100 studios we work with. The $9.95/mo rental plan includes the BoXXX and 100 minutes per month (with rollover).

It was the former. Question answered ! Thanks. 9.95 is definitely more to my liking. Any chance you guys could ever get on Roku or one of the other players ?

This service sounds terrible. Any competent computer user can already stream anything on their computer straight to their television.
What exactly is the point when I can stream FREE tube sites to my television already?
Anyone who doesn't know how to do video out already just google it, it's pretty simple not to mention it doesn't involve buying anything.

We have over 15,000 movies from over 100 studios and the most advanced category filters in the industry. Watered down is the last phrase I'd use. We're in discussions to replace that watered down shit for several cable companies with IPTV offerings.

And anyone that has hooked up our BoXXX w/ the included HDMI cord and sat back on the couch to use the remote would tell you how much better the viewing experience is. But if messing with wires, moving equipment, toggling display settings, etc so you can watch stretched, pixelated video with choppy delivery is good enough for you then that's fine with me. A Honda will get you to work every day just as effectively as a Ferrari, one just makes the ride much more pleasant.

What era of computer do you use when you think using a remote control or HDMI is some kind of special feature?
Do you even read what you write? You argue against your own points!
Quote:
included HDMI cord... But if messing with wires
If you are from 5 years in the past maybe I would understand that argument.
Also are you trying to say there are no wires at all on your system? That is pretty impressive how does that work because
Let me show you something:
one of many PC based home theater/media center remote controls. Note the lack of wires
Unbelieveable! There are graphics cards that have HDMI output.
Neither one of those items required a monthly subscription. And tube sites were just one example, media on the 'net is pretty much free if you are able to use search engines.
Monthly fee? None aside from net access.
Your service is shit.
Quote:
toggling display settings,
I'm curious about this. What kind of gear are you using where toggling a display setting is some kind of chore?
If you want me to teach you how to set up hot keys for your video settings so you can avoid messing with menus entirely just send me PM.

Where do you get the idea that quantity is selling point over quality? Do you know how man hours of porn exist? For less than 50 cents a unit I can order 8 hour porn compilation DVDs. Just because they are 8 hours long and dirt cheap doesn't mean anyone wants to see them.
And also, why would you even bother saying "included HDMI cable" it makes you sound retarded. As though it is some special bonus to buy something that includes all the things you actually need to use it.
Think if I were advertising a keyboard to you and I went out of my way to let you know that I had included a space bar? That is pretty much what you are doing.

How many things have you bought that require an HDMI that actually include it with the purchase? My PS3 sure didn't. My HDTV sure didn't. My laptop with HDMI out sure didn't. So yes, I think it's a value that we provide one.
My point about the quantity was that with so much selection I can assure you you'll find what you deem to be 'quality' porn. You want high budget features with named stars? Got 'em. Want "amateur" home movies with fresh girls? Got 'em. I'm not sure what your definition of 'quality' is, but if you take a look at what we have available I'm more than confident we have plenty that meets your criteria.
Thanks for the feedback, it's been fun fellas.

I don't get it either. The point I was trying to raise is just that I am sitting in front of a machine that I already own that has all the features that are being advertised by a subscription service, that involves buying hardware that is gonna be absolutely useless if the company folds. But if NVIDIA goes out of business my video out on my graphics card will still work.
With my video out I can have a practically limitless numbers of different porn movies playing on my television in different windows at once if I want to.
I am just saying this might be great technology but it should be advertised to people who are buying porn off the magazine rack not people who own modern computers.
Didn't mean to frighten the guy off but I think I am raising some valid points when I ask "What's in it for me?".
Internet access already gives me porn on demand. A cheap (no monthly fee) video card gives me HDMI (or SVHS for that matter is I am using RCA cables). I ALREADY have the service this guy is selling.
Also I am going to maintain my long standing position that I never need to see high definition porn. Porn is fine in standard definition for me, I don't need to see all the details of every whores razor bumps.
An informed electronics user knows how to do what this service does already and for next to free. Without owning any new hardware that is potentially going to brick itself. Who do I call when I want my porn machine repaired, we're not talking a red ringed XBOX.
Also the thing is 89 bucks and requires an internet connection. I already have a computer with an infinite amount of porn to suck up bandwidth.
You may make a great product but it is selling snow to Eskimos. I already have a machine that uses the internet to play porn. So does everyone else who posts here. So does everyone else who has internet access at home.
Tell me please what this device does that is worth 89 bucks that makes it replace an a HDMI out video card (these can be found as cheap as around 50 bucks). A remote control is not a correct answer because you probably already have one in your hand (hint hint, a wireless mouse IS remote control).

It is good for people who want quick, quality, plug and play without stealing. Conq., your argument is valid for the slightly tech savvy with a little bit of time, who doesn't mind hunting a bit to steal porno.
I could probably find almost any Gag Factor scene somewhere if I hunted, and set it up to play on the TV (actually, I'm already wired up for that), but I find it easier and nicer to play the DVD. I subscribed to GagFactor.com and downloaded the .wmv files so I can watch on the computer, and converted other downloaded scenes to .mpg to watch off an external hard drive wired to a DVD player.
The website says you can keep scenes in the box, but the rub there is I bet there is no way to move them to another device (to really own them apart from the subscription service). I like to own scenes. Either DVD or .mpg
Right now, I am in an RV doing internet off my Blackberry. No high speed connection, so I'm glad I own thousands of blowjobs to choose from.

Remove head from ass please. They didn't include HDMI cables because they were not required for any of those devices to function.
This is the back of a PS3. It seems to be that HDMI doesn't need to be included because it isn't the only option.
Our BoXXX doesn't REQUIRE HDMI either, but we include it because it provides the best experience. The same way the PS3 doesn't REQUIRE it but if you want the best gaming/movie experience that's what you'll use. For someone so hard up on "quality" I'm surprised I have to explain this to you.

Sorry, but I generally have more important things to do with my day than engage in flame wars. I know my shit is good, read any review if you doubt me. I also know that barely any other consumer electronic device on the market has HDMI cords packed in, so when I'm insulted for suggesting that doing so is an added value I know to keep it moving because I have no interest in feeding trolls.

I agree and it is a weakness we are addressing. In March we'll be launching content access via our new site, iOS devices, and Boxee. A little after that will be Blu-Rays and Android (sorry, Blackberry is pretty far down the list). We won't be allowing for downloads at any point (that's just the deal we have with the studios), but we will make sure no matter what device you own you will be able to access content.

I think the rub lies in the proprietary hardware. And that it is 80 bucks for what amounts to an internet router. And that it doesn't seem to have any other functionality.
ALSO not that many folks want a porn machine sitting on their TV stand. That could get awkward with visitors, or children around. The hardware is my biggest problem with this. I love the idea otherwise.
With porn on my computer and a video out nobody has to know what i watch on my video out and I can still show "normal" movies no problem. Same deal with a Playstation 3 or whatever. But this thing appears to be a dedicated porn box. Not everyone would find that embarrassing but many of us would.

How do you account for the "analog hole" basically if I can watch it I can record it? I know it isn't always practical but what stops me from having a DVD recorder between my box and my TV (or whatever, you see where I am going here)?

So do we, but we send porn stars to come collect so it's a win/win. If you go on one of the rental plans and you cancel, you have to mail us back the BoXXX.

And we're releasing Wealth and Deception soon.

No matter what anyone says or does, someone that really wants to get content is going to get it. But that's not to say we don't have ways of identifying files we find floating around the interwebs.

The BoXXX is pretty non-descript. It's just a black square. The only people that ask me about it when they come over are people that know what my job is. I completely understand the point though and it's totally fair. That's why we're real excited to get on Boxee, Blu-Rays, etc. We had already built for Yahoo Connected TVs (Vizio) but they cock-blocked us and changed their T&C to not allow porn.

How much to buy Throat Fucks 2?
If I buy it, does it get stored in the box (on a hard drive) or do I need to stream it each time I watch?
Could I load it up when I'm back in Ohio at my high speed connection, then take it on the road with no internet, and watch my purchased content?
-Chuck
Edit - there is a break even here if it gets stored in the box. Say your average movie costs $7 in your system, and $25 on DVD. Box is $90. For break even, $7 * x + $90 = $25 * x ; $18 * x = $90 ; x = only 5 movies to break even. Providing I get them forever, that I'm not tied to your subscription.

Throat Fucks 2 is currently priced on our system at $17.95 (vs current Adult DVD Empire price of $34.95). The file is never stored locally on the BoXXX, you will stream it every time.
Yes, you'll be able to watch it on the road via our website or your iToys (that stuff will go live in March) but you will need internet access whenever you want to watch.
If you want to do a review up, PM me your first & last name, email, phone, address, and something that makes me feel comfortable you're not going to use this as an opportunity to jack a bunch of movies and spread them around online.

Also it's totally cool you will let charin review your stuff. He can easily prove from photos he isn't a pirate. It's just we get a lot of dipshits showing up offering "groundbreaking" new developments and once people start saying "well if it's so great show it to us!" they fuck off back to wherever they came from. Then a few months later when I feel curious I check their groundbreaking new page out only to see that it has become home to domain squatters.
Just understand I have very very good reasons to be skeptical.
Will there be a way to do local storage in the future?
You are going to miss out on a Canadian market with the streaming only thing because our country is retarded and we have bandwidth caps.
Let's say I am paying 60 bucks for very high speed internet (i play games) but a bandwidth cap of about 120 Gigs a month. If I surpass my bandwidth cap I get RAPED with charges like 15 bucks for 20 extra gigs.
So what i am getting at is that if an average DVD is around 7 gigs in size and I am using the internet for other things and I wanted to watch a FyreTV movie every few days (or even every day) I would end up paying twice for my movies really quickly. Once to my ISP and once to your company.
With no way to store locally so you can replay a movie without re-streaming how could a user like me or one of my neighbors find this practical?
Are there future plans to allow some kind of external storage. I see that on the FyreTV box there are a couple of USB ports.
Neither this reviewer... (by the way this is a rather positive review)
or this reviewer. (all this is is an unboxing but it shows the USB ports)
What are the USB ports for, these reviewers seem not to know and they have access to the printed manual. Please say they're for attaching external hard drives.
I am very curious about how well FyreTV has done in Canada?
I can't run around downloading GIGs of movies every day, I have to be very very picky. Crysis 2 just got leaked. I already pre-ordered it so I wouldn't feel a twinge of guilt about downloading it 45 days early, but it's 9 gigs so I'm leaving it alone
And I just want to point out that it is pretty much effortless to save a video from a tube site.

Thanks for the offer, but I won't be at my high speed connection until mid-March (I'm tethered to a Blackberry now, in the RV). Also, I think I already know enough to give an opinion. Correct any mistakes.
Judging by the way you've posted here and the website intro, this is a quality effort with a nice interface. From what I saw looking at my genre (blowjobonly) and the first dozen or so studios, there is very high quality content, and recent stuff. All very good, and the system no doubt operates quite well with a good internet connection. All that is probably worth $90 to some folks, or "I have porn" monthly until "I have nosy girlfriend" and I can see where some similar version would be perfect for hotels, etc.
However, saying I "own" the scenes or movies is just not correct, I always have to go through you to see them. And I always need a high speed connection to see them. But, that may not be an issue for most people.
For my part (that's time, effort, and money) I'll continue with DVDs and subscription sites that let me download to keep. But I am a sick old pervert with a large blowjob collection. I'll still send you info and do a review in late March/early April if you want, but your website about covers it. I would encourage others who are interested to look there.
