How big do those dogs run Coke. My neighbor has 4 English Mastiffs. They are fucking large. Inside their fence, I wouldn't throw an enemy. Outside of it, they are usually mellow, loafing, drooling, wanting to be scratched. That is of course w/ the owners around.
I keep a bat in my backyard, in case one of them gets loose while I'm out there. Fucker barks at me within the reach of the bat, and hopefully I have to go get a shovel. Dog that big do some real damage. I'd rather try killing it and apologizing later w/ a big bottle of Johnny Red.

They cut the ears because there are lots and lots of nerves in them and when bitten they bleed heavily. So in the dog fighting world they dont want blood or hanging ears they wanna go in for the blood that comes with the kill of the tearing of the face and body. Make sense?

People who don't fight their dogs still get ears cropped for aesthetic reasons either to satisfy a "standard" or to make the dog look more feral and aggressive. I've even had someone try to justify the practice to me by saying that cropping the ears decreases/prevents painful inner ear infections. Beagles are a breed that seems to more likely to get alot of ear infections based on the ones I've seen and from people I've known who own them and no one crops the ears on that breed.

Some people are just assholes and thinks it makes their dogs look scarier, meanwhile there is nothing cuter than a pitbull with ears. Its all an ego thing and goes to show you their fucking stupid mentality, uggg most of em even do it themselves. There are a few docs that wont do it round here. It has to be done when they are very very young, not when they've already become adults. People are just fucking evil and most deserve to get his with a serious plaque. Cocker Spaniels are the biggest breed with ear infections.

My lab keeps an ear infection because he has ready access to swimmable water 24/7. Maybe I should have his ears cropped instead of injecting shit into his ears all the time.
