Nice list, except that 'Russian Caucasus' isn't exactly a country. Neither is 'The Sahel'.

Typical. The US Armed Forces are present or have been present in 4 out of the top-5 countries on that list in the last 20 years. It really helped!

Whenever I see these lists I wish that Canada were them. We are way more dangerous than some of those other places just based on out brutal geography.

You may be a badass Sudanese machine gun toting hyena rancher but Northern Canada would be happy to show you how tough you really are.

Just saying, we have more square footage of dangerous awful places than Haiti could ever hope for.



EDIT: About the brutal geography, Canadians actually live in these places. It's not simply that I was equating Northern Canada to Death Vally. A person can actually go live in Northern Canada.

^^^ Canada is a given. The threat of being bored to death in a coffee shop or book store is well known and understood by all the world's upright animals.

Why does it not sound threatening when it looks like a hamster talking about how dangerous Canada is?

I spent some time studying the Inuit people from Nunavut. Fascinating culture. But life there is certainly less dangerous than, say, parts of Detroit.
