I was wondering what the state of the industry is like right now? I read that it was only in the 80s when video first became available that adult films really took off. Now with the internet there seem to be much fewer movies being made and girls seem to be retiring. I love the internet but I don't want to see porn die!

There are lots of movies being made, but not nearly as many people buying them. Too many people trying to steal content and get shit for free.

Why steal when you can go over to sites like xhamster.com and watch porn for free all day.

The real question is why do porn companies allow 'distributors' like videosz.com to post their scenes for free at all?

I've been beating this dead horse for years but until the pornographers decide to opt out of the distribution deals that screw them over nothing will ever change.

porn is not by any means dying ....its simply in a transitional phase....it needs to figure out where its going toward on many different levels.

Here's the deal...

This so-called 'transitional phase' has been going on since the first porn clip hit the Internet in 1999. The problem is that pornographers, in general, equate internet distribution to physical distribution - thinking that more is better.

Pornographers go around and sign up for every single VOD provider they can get their hands on thinnking that each one will reach geometrically more customers, increasing their sales exponentially. In fact, the multiple distributors are fighting for the limited supply of viewers with the same content. Fighting for the same viewer with the same clip has driven down the value of the clip - to the point where it has zero worth in many cases.

Look at the tube sites. They are all run by VOD distributors, who are using different studios scenes FOR FREE to attempt to lure the viewer into paid programming. As a consumer, why would you pay for something that you can get for free??? You wouldn't.

Until the studios step in and decide to distribute their own content online, the industry will remain in a 'transitional state' until it collapses.

Not true. Quite a few tube sites are actually run by Brazzers. Oh and they don't advertise VOD sites. Ads on tube sites are mostly bought by companies selling adult products that can't be stolen(camwhores, dating) or by big internet porn companies(Brazzers, bangbros, RK, NA, ftv, twisty's, etc).

pornotube.com = AEBN
xhamser.com = videosz.com
snizzshare.com = moviebox.com

pornhub.com = trafficjunky.net
keezmovies.com = trafficjunky.net

youjizz.com = proxy
tube8.com = proxy
deviantclip.com = proxy
tnaflilx.com = offshore

So what you are telling me is that the studios are allowing their content to be stolen so that an advertising site can make money and not share it with them? If that's the case, I need to get me one... or ten.

What's the solution here, xvod? Are these pirates worth going after in court, or is it more complicated than that?

If my ignorance shows...sorry.

There's no sense going after the pirates. It would be just like throwing pot smokers in jail.

I would recommend the studios get together (share the legal bill) and have the offending sites shut down. Last time I checked ICAAN was run in the US and subject to US law. I would suppose it would be fairly easy to prove willful copyright infringment in court and have the offending domains transfered or closed as damages.

Why would anyone pay for that traffic? It's absolute junk. A bunch of cheapskates who won't spend a dime on porno.

Problem is that some of the "Tube Site" are foreign owned. How do you go after them.

As long as their are fetishes of all kinds there will be porn whether it's pirated or not. There are freaks out there who would just make their own amatuer porn and just post it to get their rocks off. I don't see porn going anywhere except bigger and better. The Hotels sell tons of porn on Pay per View. Heck the Mormons won't take it off of the Marriott hotels pay per view.

Yes, but hotel porn is very mainstream porn- usually features. Not every studio wants to make that.
