Club Sesso To Open June 19

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Adult film star Ron Jeremy will open an upscale swingers club in downtown Portland later this month.

Club Sesso is located at 824 SW 1st Ave. near the Portland World Trade Center. Because the club is private, there is not a sign on the building.

The member's only club features 11 private rooms with king-size beds, a large group area and a couples-only lounge. It is owned by Jeremy and business partner Paul Smith.

Their Web site said the club answers "an overdue demand for an exciting upscale swinger's nightclub in Portland."

Portlander Trisha Gifford said she supports the idea of the club.

"I believe in free love, so it's like, cool you know," she said. "Right on. People can do whatever they want."

Other Portlanders said they also supported the idea, while others questioned its location.

"I don't really mind -- people have their own lives so they can do whatever they want," said Karla Oliva, who supports the club.

"Smack in the middle of downtown -- I just don't know if that's the right location," said Julie Reid, who said she's unsure of the club.

Club Sesso's grand opening is set for June 19, according to its Web site.""

The location is on my bus route home from work so I can monitor it on a weekdaily basis.

The last incarnation was raided by the po-po:

"Ibiza, an Old Town* restaurant and lounge with a tapas influenced menu, was raided this morning by Portland police as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged fraudulent bank transactions. According to the Portland Police bureau, officers arrested one 43 yr old Ramin Zamani in connection with the case on two counts of Theft in the First Degree, and one count of Theft in the Second Degree.

Further details on the arrest remain unclear. Contacted by phone, a representative of Ibiza refused to comment on the raid or whether or not the business would remain open in the near future.

The whole history of this place sounds like an Atom Egoyan film. I'll be played by Bruce Greenwood who attends an office Christmas lunch during the piano bar incarnation, and befriends a young waitress (played by Ceara Lynch) whose parents I latter kill whilst driving a school bus, at which point I monitor her behavior at the same locale whilst driving by on the bus until I see her with Ron Jeremy (pet rabbits and turtles are also involved as symbolism) at which point I disembark from the bus and go all "Taxi Driver" and shit.

Well, that's another reason to hop the train to Portland. Portland is the sex capital of Cascaida.
