Desi, how is it that you say you're from the corporate world, but now you're just finally getting a bank account after 20 years? Happy Mother's Day. I'm not being a bitch here. i am truly wondering. How did you pay bills? Surely, walking to Western Union to get a money order every month must've been a pain in the inconvenient ass. What about other bills? You can't use a debit card if there's no account. Didn't your corporate jobs pre-porn have automatic check deposit? Didn't they give you 401K options? Even a money market account is considered a savings account. I'm totally confused.

I had a co-worker who told me his girlfriend couldn't get a checking account because she had multiple convictions for check fraud that spanned over a 5 year period. That was the first time I ever heard of anything like that and never heard of it since. I always thought he or his girl was full of shit.

You're right, Charin. Lots of people don't have 401K options. It's just that Desi keeps saying that she's from such a professional background. Anyway, who cares about that. I'm still trying to figure out why and how she didn't have a bank account for 20 years.

Let me first say that I'm not trying to pick on you or anything, but your two statements that I put in bold are completely 100% FALSE.
My roommate last year got fired from the hotel we both work at, got her car repossessed, couldn't pay her student loans, amongst the other credit card/loans she had. Mind you this was for over six months, and she still was able to open a bank account! At Bank of America no less.
You are working at the Bunnyranch. Even if you only got a customer once a day for two weeks, you would have made more money than she has made in the last nine months! You obviously are holding back on this story of why they won't let you open an account.
Again I'm not trying to join the crowd and pile on here, but I gotta call bullshit when I see it.

Desi's post should probably read " If you have judgements against you, and you put money in a bank account, then they will know about it and come after it." Or something to that extent. It has been a while, but I think all you need to open a bank account is a valid ID and money. Unless she was denied a checking account, because she has written bad checks in the past. I never heard of that, but it may be a possibility. But really, the I doubt she has made enough at the whore ranch to fill a mason jar with nickels.

The past couple of days have been slow but steady. We both had Wednesday off and were supposed to go exploring in the mountains with our neighbor. I woke Elli up around 11am to say we needed to get going and she wasn't too happy about it. After some touchy moments, I decided to get away for a while and run my errands. The first thing on my list was to head to the bank to make a deposit so I could pay some bills. I still hadn't received my checks and ATM card so I was going to get a money order to mail out to get one of them taken care.
Unlike Cali which has very few drive thrus, Wells Fargo here has a nice big drive thru so I drove up and sent in my deposit. I had decided I would send a check from my new account kit so I didn't even have to go in. That was, until the bank manager came to the speaker and said there was a problem with my account. I could either come in to take care of it now or she could send my paperwork back so I could come in at a later date. Since I needed to pay bills, I had to opt for immediate action.
I went in and found out that they had decided to close my new account. I guess the home office looked at my credit report and decided I couldn't have an account after all. Then comes the best news of all . . . they had sent my money out by check so I had to wait for my money. Now I was really pissed off. The manager had signed off on my account when I opened it. I had deposited cash so I wanted my cash back. They said they had 10 days to get my money to me by check. I said "Great, tell that to the companies I owe bills on"!! This is exactly why I'd like to see the banking systems fail. They only cater to the people with big bucks, the rest of us they treat like shit!! I mean, REALLY, they took my cash and wouldn't give it back like I REALLY got time to wait!!!
Needless to say, I still don't have my money. Yesterday, I received my checkbook along with a letter saying they were closing my account. Does that really make sense?? Order me checks and then close my account. If I was a bad risk, I would've taken those checks and written them all over town. I'm waiting to see if they deducted the price of the checks from the amount they're sending me. Oh they think I made a scene the other day . . . they better not try to charge me for those checks!!!
