This word is an ADJECTIVE. Check the Merriam Websters online dictionary: "com·mu·nis·tic \ˌkäm-yə-ˈnis-tik, -yü-\ adjective often capitalized." There are a lot of other words there you're also not used to hearing. Take your time. Reading is fundamental!

Not necessarily, dum dum. If someone was going to blow up the world, it would have been during the 60s or 70s (Cuban Missile Crisis? weapons supplied via the Ho Chi Minh Trail etc etc). The Soviet Union was in decline during the 80s. But then, that's one educated opinion. You see (this is important), the Cold War was not a literal event like the Ali-Frasier fight. It was a CONCEPT. Get it? An ABSTRACTION. People come together at universities to exchange ideas and interpretations on things like this. Nevermind, go cut my grass.
