Saw this one for the 4th time last night. It's a lot of fun for a musical and there's a shit-ton of blood and gore.

Maybe I went into this with expectations that were too high. Maybe it just wasn't a good stoner movie. Either way I didn't really get into this and I tend to like movies like this. I'll give it another shot today and see if it holds my interest.
I also checked out The Strangers and wasn't expecting much from it once I realized Liv Tyler was in it. Boy was I wrong! This movie gave me quite a few good jolts and I really liked it.

I totally agree.
If you liked The Strangers you might want to check out Angst (1983).
Same kind of deal with a home invasion with no real motive except Angst is scarier.

No, but they made people think it was. They even paid the actors to lay low after the film came out, people thought they had died.
It paved the way for other reality horror stuff, the only one off the top of my head is Blair Witch Project.
I really dislike the animal violence in that movie. I think the version I have has them cutting up a turtle as well.
If you're interested just do a search, there has been TONS of stuff written about that movie.

^^^Thanks, I had no idea it was so well-known. I had never even heard of it, I thought it was some sort of underground movie. My b/f bought it for like 30 bucks. I remember the turtle. The horror! And the guts! bleh!

I'd give it maybe 3 out of 5 stars. It would have been over 4 stars, if there weren't so many funny moments. The gore effects used too much CGI. I'd say check it out for yourself, though. There's plenty of action and gore.
