At tonight's AVN awards in Vegas- Jenna is on the stage giving an award to the winner of the crossover to mainstream category. THe winner is Stormy Daniels. Jenna says " I will no longer be spreading my legs for this industry" The crowd boos. She says "Sorry Guys" Stormy accepts the award and says, " Well I plan on spreading my legs for this industry for quite some time." The crowd cheers. Jenna has passed the torch, and is no longer the queen of porn in my opinion. I am sad to make that statement, because I adore Jenna.
edit-i should say "had adored Jenna" but makes me sad to say that, because I just thought she was one who no matter what would respect her roots in porn, and her book was amazing, so you feel like after reading it you know what she went through. All this talk about crossing over I witnessed on the internet was quite redundant; nothing to change the perception regarding the rank pornography has in the rest of the entertainment industry.
When watching Jesse Jane passing the camera, showing her back, in "Starsky & Hutch" [2004] and reading about this being a cameo, something is definitely twisted.
She was not recognizable, as her face did not make it into the final cut of the film. She was a part of the set, nothing more.
While there sure is a considerable amount of hypocrisy present in Hollywood film production, the people in charge still manage to weed out and to discriminate against those they see as morally inferior.

I'm not claiming to be fucking Julia Roberts...I'm not some huge mainstream celebrity. The award simply means that out of all the pornstars listed I did the MOST mainstream work in the last 12 months. This is the simple truth. They deleted it for the HBO version, but on the dvd I actually do dialogue with Steve Carrell after he turns off the porn. Though I didn't attend the awards, I did hear all about Jenna's speech afterwards, and I just watched it on youtube. Honestly I don't think that she was "dissing" the industry, I just think she was being clear that she would no longer be doing any more explicit nudity. Perhaps she's just decided that she's run her course in terms of being a performer, and it's time for her to step away from that role. I'd heard such an uproar about this whole thing, and now having watched it, I don't see what the big deal is. It's her decision to make, and she's not 22 anymore. Thanks for posting the link to watch Jenna's speech. It's not as bad as I originally thought. But I don't understand why she said "I'll never spread my legs for this industry again." Even if it's true. It's just a harsh thing to say. And it sounds like a fuck you because of the way she said it. If she wants to retire, that's fine. She could do it with class and grace and say tonight I am announcing my retirement, I love the industry but I am no longer going to do sex scenes.
