Now why on earth would you say that man.....I submit the illustrious Jasmine Tame. A porn girl has a number of 'firsts' she can do, such as 'her first ever anal/interracial scene'...certain producers will pay an inflated fee to get a girl's first scene at a new level, because they know they will have something their competitiors don't have. Take Amy Ried, for example...she doesn't do anal for just anyone, because only a few producers can afford her anal rate.
Although it won't please many on this board to hear it, ideally a girl should do as little as possible levels-wise and save her firsts for a time when her work offers begin to drop off.
Once you do a new level of work, you open up a whole slew of new potential customers...if Company A shoots anal only, and Company B shoots interracial only, then they won't hire you until you do anal or interracial (or maybe both!).
If a girl can get by financially doing only softcore (Aria Giovanni) or g/g only (Jana Cova) that's great...but less attractive girls might not be able to pull this off. If you take Jenna Jameson as an example, she still has her first anal, interracial, and DP scenes up her sleeve, so she has done incredibly well for doing comparatively little, especially by today's standards.
If an agent has their head screwed on right and has a girl who is pretty enough to just get by doing girl/girl but likes regular anal gangbangs with black men in her private life, he won't start her off doing anal, gangbangs or IR, but instead let her do the g/g thing until the work drops off and then gradually start to up her levels until the work at that level is exhausted whereupon the girl ups her levels again, etc.
Basically, it's about career longevity...longer career means more money for the agent and the girl.
