But she is a role model for a lot of women. Look at all the new talent coming into the industry and treating it as a "career". Parcelling out the sex acts to drive up the price. Expecting to cash in, then cross over to semi-legitimate mainstream status.
There is nothing really new about this. Look at Ginger Lynn's career path. If she had come up in 1993, she would have done the same thing, and would still have failed to take that last step where she becomes accepted.
I suspect that this is also part of what is driving Jenna to her current state. The divorce, and potentially losing a large chunk of her empire must hurt, but she has also hit the glass ceiling of respectability. People buy her book and invite her to B-list red carpet events, but she is never going to get her own ABC sitcom or starring role in a "legitimate" movie - and she wouldn't get one even if she could act.

I never really followed the inside baseball on the making of Jenna Jameson. One minute, she was this central casting bolt-on blonde showing up in hour 3 of Wicked comps, and the next she was the Biggest Porn Star Ever. And maybe I missed the nuances, but I have to assume it was all due to marketing because there was never anything in her look or her performances that really stood out to me.
Of course, once she became famous she almost completely disappeared from actual porn scenes. But she did pave the way for Mary Carey, who managed to become one of the world's most recognized porn stars without even shooting a hard-core scene in the first place.
Edit: Jebus. People who want to become bloggers really should learn about organizing their thoughts into coherent paragraphs. Just the sight of that undifferentiated mass of text has driven me to drink (yeah, that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it). At least it wasn't in ALL CAPS.

The weight loss is the least of her problems -- that can be easily fixed by simply eating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The butchering to her face, however, isn't so easily rectified. I'm pretty sure you can't undo what has already been done. Well, I suppose you can do anything, but the result won't be any better.
