Went out with my friend and his baby. Today was baby's first haircut. She's three. We took her to Allen Edwards Salon. I was in the chair nearby getting my hair dyed darker, but my hair stylist tells me it's really a cellophane to make it glossier. Then we went to Toi. My friend had the Tom Yum soup which he shared with baby who also had steamed veggies with hot sauce. This child loves hot sauce and can eat an entire chile pepper without a problem. It's unreal. I had a salad and the Pad Ciw but made them go heavy on the broccoli and keep it raw. Just the steam from the noodles is enough to soften it still crunchy.

I was watching the Young Ones last night and felt inspired to make some hippie food.
For lunch today I had some lentil and brown rice casserole. It was damn good and incredibly simple to make.

Lunch at 9:30pm. I'm back to having a really fscked up schedule. Today we had fish sandwiches with fries. The girl who does our catering has this munchkin chick helping her and tonight she got carried away with the bawls jokes and just wouldn't stop. Apart from that- really long night up ahead.

Today we had a very generic lunch of pizza. Possibly my least favorite kind of luncheon experience because our catering cannot make a good pizza and just stick two toppings.

I didn't have time for lunch, so I ate 2 pink lady apples in the car. Veronique Vega is obsessed with them, and made me get some. They're only avail in L.Aa at Bristol Farms. They taste kinda custardy at times once you bite in.

Ha! It looks that way, huh? The first and third pictures above are the same place, because it's a good one. You should see my little blog lately, it's gotten so redundant it's hardly worth posting or reading. And it's all about dining on the cheap.
The second pic is from a different spot. A little bistro around the way. Mine was an organic veggie burger with roasted red bell peppers, oven-roasted tomato, caramelized onion, green leaf lettuce, and homemade ketchup. Best in town.
That smoothie sounds great, but I couldn't start my day without a coffee first. I thought you were anti-coffee at some point. Speaking of which, who's been to Intelligentsia at Sunset Junction? I've heard good things.
Tomorrow will be someplace different.

I used to have to have coffee everyday but now just a few times a week. No mochafrappahazelnutventiskinnywithfoam; just an Americano. That's $2 at sbux. Haven't been to Intelligencia yet, but I heard it's like the old school quality coffee joint back home in Seattle. I HATE Los Feliz, Silverlake, etc. Anything East of Highland, count me out. The streets get all twisty turny, it's crowded and narrow, it's far from the ocean, cluttered, and even the air seems heavy.
Not into veggie burgers and I prefer the freshness and crunch of raw onions. But try the one at M Chaya on Melrose. My friend swears by their veggie burger when we hit that place up.

Pad See-ew (sp) with tons of raw veggies on top. The steam from at noodles softens them juuust enough. I love Thai dishes.
