Today I had the chicken chimichanga arrangement of mexican goulash which always includes beans and lettuce and white cheese and guacamole and sour cream all plopped together on a "hot plate".

Roly Poly Sandwich Co. again today. 1/2 Key West Cuban, cup of chicken noodle soup and tea/lemonade mixed. It's sophomoric, but we ordered everything "roly-poly" as in "can I get another roly-poly pack of crackers?".
The color scheme is a little off-putting in there.

My girlfriend recently started hanging out with this Spanish bird called Mercedes and they've been cooking Mexican dishes almost everyday. It's kinda good because I've taken a break from preparing the meals, but it also sucks because I have no say in what to eat.
Yesterday we had Tortilla soup for LUNCH. It was served to me with Chicken enchiladas on the side (which really means its poured on the enchiladas). Too much food. I was full before I even began, but I still ate it.
Today we had Beef fajitas (grilled meat served on a flour tortilla with condiments). I also had the choice of rolled chicken tacos and jalapeno cheddar cheese poppers (something my girlfriend loves) and nacho chips with guacamole dip.
I'm getting used to Mercedes being here almost everyday and cooking, but my girlfriend has started accusing her of leaving farts around the house.

Today I had Pork and Sauerkraut and Kielbasa. Kielbasa is a Polish sausage. Sauerkraut is sliced white cabbage. I'm not exactly sure how my girlfriend makes this odd dish, I think she baked it then put it in a bun (like a hotdog). She says she does this on New Years. I washed it down with a pepsi cola then had some Ben & Jerry's Coffee Heath bar crunch ice-cream (my favorite).
Tomorrow will be the last day the girlfriend cooks, so Wednesday will be more exciting dinning.

Wow like totally awesome, she wanted 'kraut not cream. Methinks that kimchee is fresher and crunchier, but on a kielbasa or other sausage not so much.

Today I had BBQ steak and Spanish rice. Spanish rice is prepared by browning the rice first with onions and garlic, before cooking it in chicken broth with added tomato. I washed my meal down with a fresh glass of ice-cold lemonade. That hit the spot!

Mid-day I had a craving for oatmeal. I like the good ol' fashioned Quaker Oats stove top. I cooked up some oatmeal and prepared the fixings mixed in a ceramic baby blue bowl. Blueberries, tons of cinnamon, and a tsp of raw honey. This is the most cooking I've ever done.
Just when I thought you were going to say for lunch you were wacking off another batch of oatmeal... I was shocked and proud to hear you actually cooked something. Bravo!
I had um... wheat thins and water and a meatball. Too tired to eat which is very unlikely of me. GRRR!!!

Windsocky, in all honesty I was spending most of my time on the toilet yesterday than anything. I must have eaten something the days before that didn't agree with me. This explains my over abundance of posting yesterday. I tried to eat. The meatballs were home made by the way. Very yummy... and feelin better much better today.

Today I had a grilled cheese sandwich for LUNCH. I grilled the cheddar with tomato on whole wheat bread and added basil tomato dip. On the side I had lays classic potatoe chips and downed a small bottle of Martinelli's Apple Juice to wash the meal down.

Today, my cubicle department had surprise pizzas and spinach/pine nut/goat cheese salad from Pizzacato, which is a small chain of gourmet pizza restaurants in Washington and Oregon whose most famous employee was Kurt Cobain (at some point). A wonderful surprise, since my breakfast was minimal...

Today I had Orange flavored chicken (lightly battered boneless chicken bites tossed in a wok with sweet and sour orange sauce) and steamed white rice from Panda Express. I picked up a bottled water and some fried shrimp. The panda express fried shrimp is marinated, butterflied shrimp that is lightly battered and cooked until its golden brown. I ate this back at work.

Today I broke down and got sushi. I try and talk myself out of eating sushi because I know I could eat it everyday for a whole year. The worst part is that everytime I go to a Japanese restaurant, I always have designs to order something else, but always end up getting the same damn thing. Two girls that work at Asanebo know me, because I'd normally go there, take about 20 minutes leafing through the menu only to order 8 pieces of eel, sea urchins and shrimp.
Today I went to a local joint close to a gym. It's owned by this lady that looks like Yoko Ono. The only difference about her is that when she laughs, she let's her tongue stick out- almost as though shes waiting for you to do the same so the two tongues can touch and sword fight. When I called, to reserve my meal for pick up, she laughed when I mentioned I would opt mackerel for scallops. I imagined her tongue snaking into the mouth piece of her phone, and appearing into my ear.
When I went to get the food, she was there to great me, and said something about the whether we've been having then again the damn tongue.
I checked my food: 2 pieces of sea eel, shrimp, toro, spanish mackerel, 6-piece california hand roll, 2 piece sea urchin shiso roll, okra and a sashimi salad on the side.

I just had a Terrine of Foie Gras at Nico's house. The duck foie gras terrine was seasoned with sauternes and black peppers then served with brioche toast and a rhubarb-goji berry jam. Nico used to live in Lyons so he's got exqusite taste.
He even popped a bottle of Chateau de Fontalem and asked me to tell him about work.

It's more like those "feeder girls" that were a topic here for a while. Supposedly it's now illegal to produce foie gras in California, and it's illegal to serve it in Chicago, yet the gagfactor marches on. I guess the quacking of a goose can't be taken as consent, yet the quacking of a whore is fine.

For LUNCH today, I had some pulled pork dumplings and cole slaw for starters before munching on pork chops, mashed potatoes and corn (from the tin). I washed this lovely luncheon down with a merlot from Sonoma; perfect way to start the weekend.

Oddly enough, I had Provolone as well. About 1/3lb deli sliced with about 1 quart of water while watching HBO's Rome on demand. It was all I was hungry for.
Now I've got a thing for that Kerry Condon.

The Mexican place in the mall does a mean cooked-to-order chimichanga, and knowing that I would be missing dinner, I went for it.
As it takes 5 minutes to assemble and deep-fry, I leisurely prepared lil' takeaway plastic containers of cilantro and chile de arbol to mix with the provided dollops of sour cream, guacamole, and the traditional (and humorous nod to "health") shredded lettuce. And, as another nod to "health" chose chicken instead of beef.
Urrrp...
BTW, it's not a Mexican invention (Mexico does not deep-fry) but rather something a restaurateur in Tuscon, AZ came up with a few decades ago...

Today I had a shrimp scampi at Dino's. I unfortunately ran into Mark and his new Russian girlfriend. Mark talks so much he doesn't give you a chance to give your input- so any conversation with him consists of you listening to him speak. This, amazingly, allowed me to enjoy my ice pilaf which was perfectly soaked in the wonderful lemony, garlicky butter from the shrimp.
I had a crisp greek salad and some golden garlic toast on the side. Washed the meal down with a glass of Semeli Nemea Red wine. Mark's girlfriend had some too.

I just had a celery/apple/beet juice, freshly made, from a shop in West Hollywood whose name escapes me. I've been keeling over in stomach pain all day because last night was my first solid cooked meal (mahi mahi, veggies, and bread) since before AEE. The entire convention, as amazing as it was, had me busy and anxious about shoot deadlines; I had no appetite and the wafting smells of food in a packed restaurant disgusted me. I apologize for seeming anti-social for turning down any dinner invites. The only things I could stand were water, green tea, coffee, fruit, salads I brought from home, and a room service chicken soup. I'll eat more tmrw.

Anyway, I was talking to her and purposely started a conversation about porn and trannies. All this over a plate of gnocchi she had made for us. She included potatos and ricotta cheese and other ingredients that I wasn't too familiar with.
