Today I went to Angelini Osteria on Beverly Blvd. The diminutive space it offers is supposed to carry a vibe of accessibility and selectiveness but this couldn't be further from the truth today.

I arrived there about 12:30pm. Maybe this is the time everybody eats LUNCH because this place was packed, and the worst part was the crowd. You know how you have people who go somewhere in large packs just to draw attention to themselves? They pack a party of say 8-12 people in a Limo then whiz over to a restaurant such as this, then have the waiter chap squeeze two tables together then engage in boring loud converstation that causes the female part of the party to burst into obnoxious laughter that causes others in the restaurant to turn and share in the joke? This was the situation today.

I was sat at the back (in the dim light to avoid people looking at me) but just two tables away was a party of idiots. I say this because I couldn't help but overhear what they were talking about and I will definately spare you the details.

I ordered an affetati misti. For those that don't eat Italian much let me introduce you to my little piece of Florence.
Affettati Misti technically means cold sliced meat often served with fresh or mature pecorino, ricotta or raveggiolo cheeses, fresh raw beans or figs. Because it's a simple meal, most of the ingredients are required to be fresh. Angelini Osteria, because they obviously studied their craft, offer this exqusite dish with mortadella, prosciutto di parma, bresaola, salame and burrata. I ordered a glass of wine with my meal, which the waiter forgot to include in my bill... perhaps he thought it was worthy since I had to endure the annoying party just two tables down, or perhaps he just has a bad memory, whatever the case I didn't mention his error.

I'm starting to dislike going out. Maybe it's the crowds or maybe it's just me, but I think staying at home and preparing my own meals is becoming more exciting than finding one of these eateries. So where'd you graze today?

I can't help it. I'm addicted to sushi sashimi. I called up Naoki and asked her to bring me some sushi sashimi consisting only of eel, shrimp and crab. I had about 6 pieces and some miso soup and green tea to jug this enlightening meal down.

Naoki is the person whom I share the most with, but know the least. She's a consant wonder to me everyday. She wears extremely extravagant clothing she tailors herself from the ideas she gets from magazines she reads backwards. Some of the clothing (which she and fellow girls her age refer to as costumes) come from film inspirations, others are get-ups from Punk, Elvis while others are from gothic lore. Sometimes I believe her ideal goal is to be a walking life doll... other times I believe she just wants to look cute. I'm not very sure... because her Engrish isn't very good and therefore she cannot express herself fully.. but she's very creative and knows how to make sushi.

Today I had a Fricadelle with German fries for LUNCH. I made it myself. I learnt how to do this whilst visiting Swizerland. Fricadelle's are elongated meatball's made with ground meat and a variety of complementary ingredients and seasonings. It may be deep-fried or slow-cooked in a stew. I always add Pilsner to my Fricadelle because it adds that certain richness in the meal.

I usually purchase Belgian Blue Beef for my Fricadelle and use nutmeg, salt, pepper for seasoning. I've known people who use different ingredients but this is all a matter of taste.
Now you may not know this, but in Belgium, the fries are much thicker.. and fried differently.. hence the choice to make my fries this way to compliment the delicious Fricadelle. To polish off this exqusite meal I downed some Pilsner Urquell. I left some for the girlfriend, so she won't cry when she gets home. POSHT!

Today I needed a little comfort food, and walked over to an upscale hotel restaurant where I demolished a Reuben sandwich made with turkey pastrami and house-made sauerkraut.

Thin cut fries with garlic aioli on the side. Bottle of Fiji water to chase.

Magnificent.

soopergrizz, that truely does sound like a magnificent lunch. Can you imagine today my girlfriend and I made Chapattis? I used to eat this bread when I visited Afrika to participate on cycle safaris. Usually I'd walk into little restaurants known as kiosks and request the kind sirs behind the register to serve me this delicious food. It's suggested that it comes from India, but this is false. The Indian bread is known as roti or nun. This chappti food I believe originates from the South Eastern part of Afrika which is inhabited by Swahili people. I know this because of how it is eaten, but I won't get into that right now...

I taught my girlfriend how to make chappatis a month ago and now shes pretty good. Let me remind the reader that chappatis are pretty difficult to make, unless one is skilled like the Swahili people.
While she made these breads, I made the stew.. a mixture of rice, beans, soup, potatoes, carrots, onions.. all the good stuff. I boiled this mixture and poured it into two bowls. We then scouped the stew into the chappati and feed. It was yummy... and we did it right.

Today I woke up at around noon and decided to have a very light breakfast... just yoghurt. My girlfriend had hot pockets.
We still had some chapptis left over from last night so I knew what was on the menu for LUNCH. The key decission was to decide what kind of stew to have with it (since we'd finished the stew I made yesterday).

I decided to make some rice and potatoes with a traditional African sauce. The flavoring for this is imported from the African coast and used for most stews. Ideally, one can eat chappti without soup, stew or food (so its good when you've got the late night munchies) but if one wants to reap the full potential of this bread, then one must enjoy it with something complimentary.

We watched Scooby Doo on Zombie Island while we ate. It was on Cartoon Network channel. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it, being that I haven't watched Scooby since my early years as a worm... the only difference was some of the characters and comics weren't as "naturally" thought out and sometimes felt a little forced. Still, some real good family fun with a very enjoyable and fulfilling LUNCH.

Today was the return of my friend Levi. He's was away on vaction with his lady far away, and today he returned. We yacked for quite a while on the phone (very rare for me because I hate telephones) but I'm happy he's back.

We finished yacking about 1pm which just happened to be my favorite hour of the day. I didn't even boink the girlfriend which shows you how excited I was.

Last night I had made some Beef stroganov; a Russian meal that consists of pieces of beef prepared with cream sauce. All I had to do today was heat up the stroganov and feast.

I usually use 2 lbs of well-marbled beef tenderloin for my stroganov but I've actually heard of people that use more which I find pretty absurd. Whatever the case, I love it this way. It's a very typical Russian meal so afterwards I feel pretty strange.

I just watched Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. I'm not sure why I watched this film, because I really shouldn't have. It was possibly the most stupid film I've seen since Binkini Girls on Dinosaur Planet, with the only exception being that film actually was aware of it's lack of plot and made up for this by having nude girls. This film seems to be devoid of even self awareness. I might watch Oliver Stone's World Trade Center later tonight, but I really don't want to. It's just not my cup of tea.

Today I spent most of my day at Sparky's house. Sparks just got a new big screen plasma television which he's very excited about. I warned him about buying such things but he doesn't listen to me. I told him to wait until someone gets it for him, me for instance, but now he's gone ahead and purchased it himself. He's also hooked up a hi-tech music system which he has then hooked up to his ipod. He has them all in the living room, so when you walk into the house, it's the first thing you see. If you miss it, he has to point it out to you by saying something like "how do you like my new 40inch screen?" or something to that effect. It doesn't matter whether you show interest or not, but the next thing he does is point out the features like he's trying to sell you one.

Anyway- we sat watching has "plasma television" and talking about this and that. I had brought over a couple of anime dvds to check out- some real violent stuff I picked up whilst in Japan. We put this in around 12:25pm which meant LUNCH was approaching FAST!!

About 12:58pm I ran into the kitchen. I have a problem with Sparky and thats his lazyiness when it comes to food. He can put cheese on bread and pass it off as a sandwich. Once he served me top ramen (not that theres anything wrong with it), but I'd be more than happy to whip something up rather than eat something that doesn't hold my stomach right you get my drift?

Anyway- Sparky doesn't have much in his fridge, but that didn't phase me even one bit.

I found some Italian bread, 8 inches long and sliced it lengthwise. I got 1/2 cup avocados and chopped them up. I spread about 3 tablespoons mayonnaise on the bread.. got 5 slices roasted turkey breast out of fridge and cut these into thin slices; got 4 pieces and swiss cheese and spread these inside the bread, got some lettuce and shredded it, got 1 red onion and sliced that up, got a 1/4 of a dill pickle and chopped that up... sprinkled these ingredients over the layered turkey spread, avocado cheese etc. I found some vinger so I drizzled this on the sandwich then finally cut the hoagie in half. I got out a couple of Miller Lites from the fridge which is what we used to wash down this Italian style turkey sandwich LUNCHEON.

Anime was fantastic... and so was lunch. POSHT!

I went downtown today to the studio to drop off some scripts. Nobody ever told me Lindsay Lohan was a freak... or did someone say this? Was it Malice who made a thread about Lindsay having pornstar ethics? Oh man- the stories I heard today would rival any porn gossip. Maybe I should get to know some of these poptarts. Are there any other girls as "horny" as she?

LUNCH: I went downstairs to eat (and hopefully bump into Miss Lohan). I had 2 chicken quesadillas filled with jack cheese and topped with guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. I washed this down with a passion fruit drink.

I then went to a large bookstore and purchased 4 books (2 about radios, 1 a mystery novel and the other one about some chick that dies and some weird stuff happens somewhere). OH- and I also got Cycling74 max MSP v4.3

Now I'm kicking it listening to arkestral sounds from beyond the ether.

Today I watched that film Pulse. It comes out tomorrow so if your a horror buff I take it you've already bought your tickets. I personally only went to see it because of Kristen Bell.. I think she's kinda cute. Her eyes hollow into her eye sockets in a strange way that intrigues me, and I believe she wears brown polka dot panties daily. It turns out that she can't act, and the filmmakers can't make her look like she's acting, so this is another diaster from start to finish. Sort of disaster actually, it's more of a failed-rip off attempt at a film called Kairo. What this film lacks, that Kairo has, is character. You cannot possibly try and re-make something that you don't fully understand yourself, nor can you expect to tell a story of something you cannot comprehend.

Unfortunately the film ran way into the LUNCH hour so I when I finally (and thankfully) got out of the studio, I went home and started on dinner. Girlfriend showed up around 3pm and found me already started on Chicken Dijon. I hope you know how to make this because it's a classic french LUNCHEON experience.

Today I stayed home because I had to do an interview on some Norwegian radio show. I also had to do an interactive java chat with some of the users. You wouldn't believe how off topic I took things. I think the guys who logged on (and those listening) were waiting for me to say something deep and meaningful that they could take back with them and recount for others but this was not the case. Infact, I had a porn playing in the background (check the review page for title and thoughts).

I didn't get hungry so I kept things simple. A bagel with creme cheese and raspberry preserves. Also I had a tub of coffee ice-cream which I gulped by the spoonful. Water and homemade lemonade was also consumed.

Unlike Mister loopnode, who apparently makes a huge production out of lunch, I prefer a much simpler meal for the mid-day. Lunch has always been a light meal that gets you through the afternoon grind in order to arrive at a solid dinner. This afternoon when I awoke from a gorgeous slumber I first pulled several slices of Pepperidge Farm'sâ„¢ 100% whole wheat bread and placed them into the toaster. The rough texture of this hearty wheat bread combined with a nice toasting are perfect pairings. I next placed a thick layer of Frenchiesâ„¢ Yellow Classic mustard followed by a single slice of a Kraft singlet cheddar cheese. The final addition was two slices of Smart Deliâ„¢ roast style turkey veggie protein patty, as I am a vegetarian. I complimented this delicious sandwich with some Laysâ„¢ lightly salted potato chips and a glass of ice-cold Coca-Colaâ„¢.

I totally forgot to say what I ate for LUNCH. So here goes:

Swordfish steak w/lemon--a little too blandly prepared though...prefer it with a crust of sesame and perhaps some peppercorns. Two glasses of estancia pinot noir.

droptone hit on my girlfriend last night.

I had to venture out during my feature dance stay in the dumpshack food-lacking town of Selma, NC. My friend W, from LA, drove up from his other house in a nearby town. We packed up and headed 2 hours east towards the Trent River where we ended up in beautiful historical New Bern.

En route, we stopped at a gas station where I bought a bottle of Deer Park water, answered the Crackberry, and fwd'd an email at the register. People gathered from all around and asked what kind of device that was.

New Bern was the original capitol of N. Carolina and the birthplace of Pepsi. Did you know that Pepsi was called 'Brad's Drink' and was invented by an md to cure dispepsia aka indigestion?

Down the street from the first Pepsi store ever was an antique shop and our lunch at Morgan's Tavern and Grill. By far the best restaurant in New Bern, Morgan's has vaulted wood ceilings, a veranda, and a banquet hall. W drank a black+tan and ordered the Mango Grilled Grouper. I had the cold lump crab salad with a heavenly cilantro dijon dressing with a side of cinnamin apples. Since we were spitting distance to the Atlantic Ocean, the seafood was fresh and amazing.

Today I had something called "Soul Food". I've heard this term before; three times actually. The first time was when a writer friend of mine from New Orleans introduced me to Southern Cuisine. She said "this is soul food, you outta try it out!" I did. The second time was from Nicole Ari Parker. She played Becky Barnett in Boogie Nights. Shes so hot. She appeared in a television show called Soul Food which was about family coming together during meal times and discussing and coming to terms with their problems. This tv show I didn't enjoy.

Anyway, the "Soul Food" i ate was prepared by an artist friend of mine. He's very strange, but droptone likes him. There was mashed potatoes, gravy, fried chicken so crispy and succulent, pork ribs so tender the meat was falling of the bone, fried catfish, shrimp, red beans, black eyed peas, mashers, collard greens and sweet corn on the cob. This was really sweet.

For drinks we only had a choice of Corona beers (requested because the gf prefers this light island beer), so I picked one of these and some water. We talked and talked then I said "Can I borrow your computer? I want to tell my friends what I'm eating because they like to hear that sort of stuff."

I'm going back downstairs in a few minutes; after I make sure nobody has replied to posts I've made since I logged on. Oh- and droptone ain't here. He wasn't invited.

I have a sincere question for you. What sort of feelings does this lovely young woman harbor at Anderson for having cut her character arc out of 'Boogie Nights'? He has a reasonable explanation for this on the DVD commentary, but he subsequently similarly cut out a black character subplot in the troubled 'Magnolia'.

Her character's marriage in the film Boogie Nights gets married, and Nicole, at the time, was not as seasoned an actor as she is today. I believe Anderson prefered to explore other characters more (such as the turbulent Durk Diggler and the submissive Buck Swope). Did you also notice the Nina Hartley character wasn't developed as much? This was the producers decission. I was on that set and can tell you everything that transpired.

I still get shivers when I watch the scene when Becky says "Sexual Chocolate. Oh come-on Buck you don't have to lash off like that." Her lips and chocolate skin.. her eyes... it's dreams.

Hartley's character was a one noter and a set up for Macy. I always assumed her role was just a courtesy for her input as technicasl advisor. But Becky Barnett is clearly developed early on as a young woman looking for Love in the traditional sense, often striking out in as endearingly clueless a manner as Cheadle's character does. Her deleted scene involving her disastrous marriage to a man who cannot forgive her pornography past seemed to me to be a logical follow through in the film's construction and in any case did not take up much screentime. I think Anderson is a genius in exactly the same way as the young Speilberg, more skilled than purely intuitive, but he has a careerist discretion that bubbles up, at least in those earlier movies, that causes odd second guesses like this example. I still think he's the best young thing Hollywood has going for it at present.

Actually Hartley was there because Anderson felt the need to include her in his film since, like me, growing up- he was a big fan of her Anal Annie series (particularly Anal Annie and the Willing Husbands).

I made three tuna sandwiches today. I added white stilton cheese, some LAYS classic chips on the side and a pepsi drink to wash the meal down.

On the way to yogahop, I stopped at Euphoria is Rawvolution in Santa Monica. It's all raw/uncooked food made from veggies, nuts, seeds, and fruit. No meat, dairy, or stupid soy. Had the hamburger with extra onions, pickles, ketchup, and mustard and a seaweed salad on the side. I'm so full I can barely go to class.

Good to be back home, but I do enjoy my Christmas ornaments I bought at Cracker Barrel in Smithfield, N Carolina on my feature dance trip.

Cracker Barrel has the best Chicken Fried Steak or Country Fried Steak (whatever they call it) ever lensed. I also love the dumplings. Man I haven't eaten there since I drove out to porno valley from Florida back in '99.

Thank you, thank you, but the question stands. If the hotties aren't gonna eat the beans, I'll have to call the farm and rotate back to corn. Ethanol baby!!!

Horrible for women, also.

Anytime you're increasing your estrogen levels, you're increasing your risk for cancer. Also, soy suppresses the thyroid, causes reproduction, problems, heart disease, birth defects, digestive distress, and calcium deficiency.

As for women needing estrogen during menopause, that's false- it's actually progesterone.

Today I woke up early because I had to get some sheet music from a dude called Webb (I like calling him Webster because he's short but unlike that character, he makes really good music). I had to get the sheet music because I have this Scottish bird coming over today to play her fiddle and sing high notes on a track I'm currently creating.

On the way home I stoped at Chipotle. I used to tell my friends I'd never make it a habbit to frequent this place but of late I've done really good in avoiding it. Today though I felt guilty again. I almost didn't go.

I settled for the Fajita Steak Burrito. This is just like a burrito but with sauteed peepers and onions instead of beans and comes with guacamole. The steak they say, has been marinated for hours in chipotle adobo then grilled.
The lady behind the counter said she hasn't seen me in ages and gave me a FREE soft drink in an attempt to make me a frequent customer. I told her I'm trying to watch my figure, paid and left.

I ate my food at home and thought about whether I'd like it if Cheryl Hines posted on this message forum.

Well perverts, this afternoon I rose from my slumber around 1 PM Eastern Standard Time due to a disgusting telephone call from Mister loopnode, and had an awkward tweak in my back. I popped several pieces of pita bread into toaster. Two pieces went with the last of a delicious tub of hummus, and another two pieces were filled with some cheese I had laying around the fridge. After this beginning, I felt like I could have a bit more to eat so I pulled out the last slice of Dominos veggie lover's pizza and chomped down on that. While I do not like pizza too much, I do not like to let things go to waste and no one else in this house eats leftovers. To clean out my throat of any contaminants I filled a glass with ice and coca-cola, as I am not a Pepsi man. A rather benign lunch for today.

Additionally Miss Jordan, I have to plead with you to stop complimenting my great state of North Carolina in order to keep all the perverts who lurk on these nether-regions of the internet in the dark of its greatness. All of us from NC would appreciate if you would praise Idaho or maybe New Jersey instead as those states are worthless yet far enough from us.

Is the reverse true: a lack of soy will prevent reproduction?

Now you know I am joking, right? But I'm willing to bet that at least 3 Porn Valley whores will ernestly consider the idea in their minds before realizing how stupid it is.

Well thanks for the answer, though it sounds like a bunch of subversive hippie crap to me.

Sorry for the hijack LoOp, I had the $8 turkey sandwich at Grayhawk with wheat bread, let/tom/mayo/must and BBQ chips. The girl behind the counter was hot as sun. I shot in the 90's.

Today I was in Torrance. I was to meet the girlfriend at Christine for LUNCH. We had lunch early (around noon) because she had to make a mad dash back to to work as there were some execs coming to her office.

Christine is a two-level type restaurant. The chef, I believe, has been influenced by Mediterranean culture because this place is a slice straight out of Greece.

Anyway, we sat upstairs. We started with the crispy calamari with red onion remoulade. My girlfriend hates calamari so she had very little of this, leaving me to polish the rest off.

For the main course she opted for the Grilled Salmon which is served over a greek salad. This comes with with spinach, red onions, cucumber, tomatoes, kalamata olives, capers and feta cheese vinaigrette.
I settled for the Brick Flattened Chicken which comes with garlic mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach and red wine sauce.
We washed this delicious luncheon down with a glass of Retsina each.

After LUNCH I rushed to the deli to get some milk. We were out of milk.

Wasn't too hungry, but was in the Valley, so I stopped in at Leaf. It's a new raw restaurant. Raw stuff is perfect for the summer because everything is chilled and fresh. I had the chocolate shake made from almond milk, bananas, coconut, and carrob.

I loved how the carrob chips were diced finely and fit through the straw in this delicious drink. Now I'm craving strawberries.

Leaf is on Ventura Blvd and Tyrone.

Today has been a rollercoaster for me. First off I woke up late. I was having this dream that world was an ocean (no dry land, just cliffs) and I was on this raft with this old woman. She was kind of attractive, and she looked like someone I know (or had known) only with gray hair.. so in effect, she looked old, but wasn't old.
Anyway, I'm on this raft and she's smilling at me, trying to reasure me that everything is fine, but I'm nervous. Very nervous. I start paddling towards a cliff and she says "It'll do you no good." WHAT? She just smiles like she never said anything. So I go back to rowing, and suddenly, this huge monster thing just scoops us up and swallows us.

This is where I woke up (LATE). I was supposed to go to Daniel Fsckfaces office to pickup some scripts. I was about 2hrs late. I called Fsckface and told him I was engaged in some matters hence I was running late. "Oh yeah.. don't worry about it. Just get here when you can and thanks for calling." Daniel is a real prick. I hate him. The only reason why I associate myself with him is because he works for Dreamworks SKG. So it's all about the money eh loop I hear you say. Actually no. Its about longivity. In LA, if nobody knows you, you don't exist. And if you don't exist, you don't get money. It's funny, but in a way, living in LA automatically makes you a whore. Trust me...

Anyway- I dashed to Fsckfaces office. It's now around noon. I get the scripts and Fsckface as usual isn't there. On my way out, I bump into this South African chick I dodged back in the day. This is the last thing I want because I need to get back home and start reading this crap. Anything I get from Fsckface is always shit- and this chick is boring. Anyway, she's yacking about something (I wasn't listening) then I feel someone tap me on the shoulder. It's my gawddamn Agent. She has this eerie resemblance to my girlfriend (who by the way, is constantly stalked by droptone). So now I'm between these two chicks who are yacking about something. My agent knows I hate to be in these circumstances but she does it to purposely piss me off. Women do these things you know.

Anyway- they're yacking and yacking and I'm trying my best to shrug them off when I propose we have LUNCH at Fsckfaces office (Dreamworks). "Great idea".

The good thing about eating here (Dreamworks) is that these guys get pampered like new born babies. You can grab your meal and choose to eat at one of the many (and I swear) many dining rooms, or in the theatre which is always showing some flick or.. head downstairs to the wreck room. Think of it like some college dorm for jews.

I don't know what the chicks grabbed, but I had a Margherita Pizza. This comes with roma tomatoes, fresh basil and whole milk mozzarella. You might be wondering, 'you have the choice to eat anything and you get a pizza?'
YEP! I wanted to get outta hear fast and really, I was having one of those days where I knew I couldn't enjoy anything else. I just wanted something fast.

I finally got away and just got home. Now you just watch droptone post a lie in reponse everything I've said.

Last night I ordered pizza from Pizza Hut and some hot wings. I didn't feel like cooking because I had all those scripts to read. One of the scripts is actually pretty good... so I read it slowly. It's pretty perverted too. I had a film called Black Mama, White Mama playing in the background while I read. That film has Pam Grier and her lovely bosom.

I didn't finish the hot wings or the pizza so I heated that shit up today for LUNCH. Daniel Fuckface called to ask what I thought and I told him they weren't that great but I'd get him a full report on Monday. Just so you know, Monday doesn't exist in Hollywood- so this was my way of telling him, if you want to know, you will have to work on a day nobody works.

The hot wings are in a wonderful honey BBQ sauce. The pizza is lovely, and I have a pepsi cola to wash it all down with.
