CHATSWORTH, Calif. - In spite of a business argument between brothers Dion and David Giarusso last Thursday, which ended with a physical altercation, both report that the company will continue its daily business activities as they attempt to work out their differences.

David Giarusso, for his part, said that he’s physically in the company offices, speaking with the directors, making sure orders go out as planned and keeping business as usual at the company.

When hearing of Dion’s plans to get help, David responded, “that’s really good to hear.”

“I care about Red Light and everything we worked for over the last two years,” Dion said. “It has to go on. We have a big booth in Vegas for AEE, three tables at the awards show and lots of appointments.

“This is a good company that does very well and it’s important to out producers and employees that things continue as they were.”

“I’m not talking about it to anyone,” David said. “This is between two brothers and that’s it.”

David denied rumors that the dispute had arisen over "selling product out the back door," as reported by Mike South. He also denied that Jake Malone had been fired; in fact Malone has two shoots scheduled this week.

"Jake was the first person I talked to this morning. We talked for about forty minutes, everything was worked out, and he's still working here. The rumors were not true," David said.

Both brothers report that they had a meeting scheduled this evening with their attorneys to discuss the best way to proceed.

So Lex left because he found out he didn't really own his movies at Red Light. Now, we found out Dion doesn't really own Red Light? This just keeps getting better...

That whole company seems to built on bullshit. I mean, they got started bullshitting people into thinking they were Anabolic, ripping off their boxcovers, stealing their talent by offering bullshit ownership. This is funny shit!

I don't get this whole Red Light thing. People go on about em like they re-invented the wheel. I see them as another no-frills porn factory. Adequate jerk-off fare, nothing extraordinary.

I don''t think they (RLD) ever claimed to be reinventing the wheel. They did, however, very consciously take over the style, talent and ultimately the client base the Anabolic had built. But is that RLD's fault, or is it Anabolic's?

Three or four years ago, Anabolic was the shit. No one could touch them. Then they decided to put up a pay site, quit putting out tapes and dvds, lost their greates talent and generally dropped the ball.

I remember about 4 years ago they were putting out at least a few movies a month. Then the site went down for what seemed to be a month or two. When it came back up, things were just never the same. Now they barely put out one new tape a month. Lately it's been just comps.

Wanker Wang Posts: Since Thursday, I've been hearing from sources inside Red Light District about a major battle for the soul of Red Light. Dion Giarusso who was the President and Salesperson at Red Light became involved in a fist fight with his brother over alleged financial improprieties. Now, I personally have alot of love for Dion. I think he's a damn good salesperson whether with distributors or even with making deals. But it seems that those deals were made of sand and they're going to blow away. I'm not going to even make public what I've heard from inside Red Light District. There's no reason to. All I can say is that if they are as shady as reported, it behooves the senses.

The greatest success story in porn history has been Red Light. Over the past two years, they exploded into the marketplace like a roman candle and coursed through the many veins of the consumer's consciousness like warm liquid gold. However, if all is true, it was a complete mirage to begin with. They were able to hit the marketplace like a complete explosion and hit more shelf space quicker than any gonzo company in history. Unfortunately, I've heard from numerous distributors that most of this had to deal with undercutting the competition by selling product at dirt cheap prices. They were able to lure the best directors, the best male talent, the best of everything with outrageous deals, seemingly too good to be true. They saturated the Internet by licensing their content at dirt cheap prices. They sold foreign rights at dirt cheap prices. Funny thing is, alot of those titles sold to foreign countries came directly back to the States. There were cash deals even lower than the invoicing price. Don't believe me? Ask distributors.

Speaking of Vince ... apparently it is the director they started with who is lobbying to take over the general manager position of Red Light in the post-Dion years. But who will be the salesperson? Without the salesperson who intimately knows his distributors, any porn company is dead in the water. After all, this is the company that supposedly sold 20,000 copies of No Cum Dodging Allowed and, eight months later, the director is in the hole bigger than he ever was ... These bogus numbers were a fraud from day one. Perhaps it was 20,000 units sold but is it possible that half of that was sold on the side?

It will be a tough road ahead. No doubt about that. In the post-Dion world, there will be immediate firings, there will be more monetary accountability, they will try to raise their prices, and people, particularly those who supposedly own their own product, will feel betrayed. Production will slow and the feeling of vast riches will no longer be there. Distributors will try to grind them down even with the cut rate prices Dion set. When you shake hands with a snake, sometimes it ends up pissing poison into your eyes. And that's exactly what he was. Dion was an octopus who used his tentacles to excite you about the future yet picking your pocket at the same time.

All we can hope is for a better future for Red Light District Video, its current directors, and its employees.

Red Light Update: Dion Giarusso to Sell Stake in Company

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Dion Giarusso announced today that he is selling his interest in both Red Light District and Platinum X Pictures to his brother, David Giarusso.

The two had a business argument last Thursday, which resulted in Dion assaulting David. Recently, the brothers met, settled their personal differences and worked out an amicable agreement for the companies.

"It's a phenomenal deal for me and I'll be well taken care of," Dion Giarusso said. "I'm there for my brother if he needs any help." Dion added that he plans to seek anger management help.

"Our personal relationship will be better than ever," he said.

All of the producers with the two companies, including Vince Vouyer, Mike John, Sean Michaels, Erik Everhard, Manuel Ferrera and others are expected to remain with the two distributors.

"We're not changing anything," David Giarusso said. "We're going forward with the company.

"We are going to work on our relationship. I love the guy. I'd do anything for him and he'd do anything for me."

David reports that the deal is effective immediately and that it will include a non-compete clause for Dion.

Sounds like Dion is getting off really easy .Hes damn lucky his brother didnt press charges against him and what about the directors he was stealing from ?I wonder if any of them are going to report the theft of their product to the authorities ?
