I'm an untraveled, unwordly MidWesterner with all the general failings and virtues that that implies. Let me get to the point: The recent Bishop posts and those of Coochie Monster have greatly confused me as they seem to have the same style of humor as, say, boston james. I'm just not used to this. I cannot believe that a black guy could write that Oompa Loompa parody related to the black porn dwarf. This is really challenging my experience and is making me finally face once and for all that I am simply a redneck and a garden variety racist. Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, Martin Lawrence, etc....those are my points of reference. Black Dennis Millers turn my worldview UPSIDEDOWN. It's one thing if a black man makes quiet dignity and elegance his schtick, like Sidney Poitier, but when blacks begin to employ comic irreverence that is borne of witty references and verbal dexterity rather than emotion and pandering low level satire, well, I'm set adrift. A black guy who describes porn as a "pretty hate machine"? I just can't fathom it. I have a desire to, and I believe that deep down I am a good, kind person, naive and openhearted. But if the consensus here is that my attitudes are iredeemable, I'll accept that and just go on as before. I have no close black friends. I knew one or two in a rural high school. I drank and did drugs with a handful over the years. I've seen a myriad of them on television and the movies and in music. And I've also heard that Beethoven was mulatto.

Thanks,
